"Optimizing" PI links and supply chains with a few clicks? (As well as two other ideas for PI.)

I find Planetary Interaction to be a fascinating part of the EVE universe. I enjoy the challenge of getting the most out of those little balls of dirt for the least ISK, despite the hours I put into each world, trying to get the most optimal links, supply chains, and the like. Every few days, I'll tear apart one of my planets and start fresh, trying to make it even better. And in all of this, there is only one aspect I find incredibly tedious: The multitude of clicks it takes to turn a simple raw resource, such as "Noble Gases," into something useful like "Oxygen." (survey, set cycle time, route to storage, route to processor, etc)

And so I find myself longing for a feature in the PI interface: An "Optimize Resource Path" button. Something that could, with a single click, examine all of my extractors, all of the resources already on the planet (for when I need to bring in Mechanical Parts to help make those Robotics), and create an automatic food chain. Then allow me to review the connections before submitting the work for actual implementation.

Having read through the older forum posts from 2010, I saw something like this mentioned several times. Obviously, nothing has come of this in-game as of yet. My question(s) to all of you (both Players and CCP Devs) is this: Does this seem like a useful feature? Is it something that should be (or is) in the works?

I'm not asking for any current capabilities to be removed. Sometimes I want to manually configure certain connections. But this single button could save a lot of time for most PI needs.

An additional capability (or perhaps an optional one with the use of a check-box or radio button): Enabling automatic Planetary Link upgrades as needed.

And one other idea: The ability to lay down more structures than a command center can support with CPU/PG, and the ability to put them offline, much like how you can put ship modules offline when you don't have the CPU or PG to use all of them.
