I'm very excited about CCP's artwork contest:

http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/a-call-to-art-decorating-the-ccp-office/

To help CCP get extra art to choose from, I'm very happy to announce:

The Heroes of Highsec Art Contest!
(I also encourage all corps, alliances, organizations, and fan sites to do the same)

The prize pool will increase for each milestone we reach in number of new entries, and I will expand the prize pool as we get closer to the deadline. Of course, I welcome all Heroes of Highsec to pledge additional prizes as they see fit. Please post your entries in this thread. There is no limit to the number of entries per player. We will vote for the best entry with a method tbd (such as likes on the post, comments on a special blog post, shareholder votes, etc.) Winners in this thread will need to submit artwork that is Heroes of Highsec-related, in a positive manner or otherwise anti-ganker, anti-New Order, anti-griefing/bullying etc, basically just appropriately themed. Winners may win in multiple categories for the same entry.

10 entries total.

Winner gets 100m isk

25 entries total

Winner gets 250m isk

100 entries total

Winner gets 1 PLEX

Best EVE-O General Discussion-themed entry

50m isk

Best from Artists who submitted at least 5 entries

50m isk

You can always find me on the forum section of Minerbumping.com :o)

This sounds pretty stupid tbh.

I'm not even a highsec player and think this is dumb.

Instead of letting this run as a CCP event, you've found a way to create something to divide the community.

I hope Code. post an alternative contest based on art that focuses on the exact opposite (of the first two criteria) and go on a campaign to collect relevant images.

As for griefing. There is a policy on it. If you think there are griefers in the game, then report them.

Heroes of Highsec does not condone relying on support tickets, nerfs, and buffs to fix Highsec for us. We are all about players banding together to do stuff for themselves. This is one of the many ways. Perhaps you should read the blog and forum posts so as not to make comments that have already been addressed. Thanks.

I've never been a fan of art contests, as nothing that arises from them could ever be called "art" (barring an occasional accident.) Art has more to do with intent than anything else in the human mind. To create with the intention of winning a contest just doesn't fit into the framework of aesthetics.

Illustrations, however, are very crafty, along with knitting Volkswagen covers and making ashtrays from roadkill skulls. So, yeah, maybe if people renamed this to "Craft Contest" or "Illustration ...." I'm an artist, by the way. I'd never squeeze a tube of cadmium red medium for the sake of a...uh...contest. *shudder*

I hope you young "artists" out there grasp this subtle point. The heavily indoctrinated among us, naturally, can't.

I tried. The writing was terrible.

Not the subject. Good luck with that.

Just the quality of the writing. Not something I intend to go back to.

Your event is missing a due date.

I also sense we will go on a ride to another forum section.

Art has been lumped in with craft, propaganda, advertising, illustration, decoration as well as a whole heap of other things you probably wouldn't call art. They are all now products in a commercial transaction and that 19th century aesthetics thing was trashed in the 1980s forever.
Your post could have been ignored but i just thought i'd drop in to tell you to get with it.
Also, let the kids have their fun. Your last line implies that anyone who disagrees with you is flawed, and that's totalitarian thinking.

Go to File

And to Properties.

Though from Photoshop I see your image DPI is 96.

As Ferni said.

But since the 72 DPI print is the minimum requirement, just make sure your file is at least:

portrait: 7654 x 3827 pixels*
landscape: 3837 x 7654 pixels

If your image is at least that size, it will print at 135 x 270 cm @ 72 DPI.

*The blog post does say they'll be printed landscape, so a portrait format might not be a good choice.

Normally I'd join in, but really a 100 mill for unique art? And only one winner?

I ask 500mill for pilot art alone, and i keep the rights myself.

if you got a better offer i'll consider
