As stated from CCP Fozzie here they will no longer be able to deal damage and are changing their role to a "fleet bonus platform" like command ships

Sounds like a Mickey Mouse role to me. I think CCP need to consider future roles of supers more carefully.

Delayed local in null sec, now there's a topic. While I'm not entirely against it, I can see a glaring issue - null sec allows force projection (hot dropping), while wormholes do not. This, coupled with the issue that wormholes are more profitable and don't require sov defence will make null sec a far less attractive proposition for living. The issue of force projection (including black ops - really, why would you do this - will another gameplay option be destroyed??) will need to be dealt with before a mechanic like delayed local in null sec will be successful.

People will say "have PvP'ers on hand" but we all know that doesn't work against blops strikes which usually annihilate the target before anyone can respond.

It's going to be funny to see what happens with the massive arsenals of the soon pointless weapons that everyone has been hording for the past 4 years.

Maybe some will be put in a museum somewhere and others will be stolen and sold on the black market to arm local warlords and religious fanatics for generations to come.

Oh wait, wrong game =x

Put a big sign on them and turn them into hotels with restaurant and bar and for the love of God let us walk around in them and buy handguns in the NeX store!

Heh heh, typical, literally just as I was writing what is wrong with Supercaps in another thread P

It's not the damage, Titans can't track ****, and Doomsdays are a much needed threat for other capitals. Likewise, Fighters and Fighterbombers can be defanged quickly and efficiently by practically anyone, and they are ****-poor at damaging anything smaller than a Drake anyway (believe me, I've seen 50 Supercarriers launch fighters at a Tengu fleet, and seen them immediately returned as the fighters popped left and right for no damage in return).

Its remote repair. Remote repair scales too well in to Capital size, rendering Supercarriers and Titans invulnerable to everything but Doomsdays (B-R was just a battle of Doomsday salvoes). Changing Supers into boost-ships doesn't really change anything, as they will still be invulnerable (and granted, if both are de-armed, they wont be able to do anything while trapped stupidly in bubbles, but they wont be dying either, so its no less a stalemate than it is today).

I kind of imagine a titan should be more like the Death Star except not as round (Lucas will be sending lawyers if they did make round titans).

The problem for me has always been an image/dream/reality thing. As an outsider starting the game the idea of Titans as giant grid-dominating death machines was awesome "hell yeah, I want to be there in a massive swarm clawing one of these monsters down", to me they were the ideal space-dragon.

Then I actually got to face the things, and found them to be nigh-invulnerable smug-machines, that didn't even really fight in an interesting way. They just kinda sat there, didn't flinch at anything you could throw at them, and didn't really decimate anything at any speed. They just kinda bored you in to submission.

I can see how we got here - we all want space-Dragons, be it to strive to claim our own, or go out in the wilderness and hunt and kill ourselves one (lets be fair, that first titan killmail is so thrilling it takes an effort of will not to frame it!). Just the mechanics don't fulfill that dream.

The article shows a crowd of capsuleers out of their pods huddled around some kind of station minigame.

So WiS is confirmed for the next expansion then.

Death to all supers.

I do not like the men on this spaceship. They are uncouth and fail to appreciate my better qualities. I have something of value to contribute to this mission if only they would realize it. - Bill Frug

Please don't turn WiS into half-life 3. :(

It also doesn't look anything like the hexagon board games WiS had.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?
