Issue: you want to move yourself to the squad or wing commanded by a specific guy.

Proposed solution: drag your name from the fleet window and drop it on the commander in question either in chat or in a watch list.

drag your name from where you get loaded in fleet?

I dont see how this is required? Maybe have the boss set free move on?

NOW i would like the fleet window to quit lagging so bad... I get it needs a second to sync with the server but dragging someone out of squad commander and dragging someone else in shouldnt take 30 seconds

Or you could just ask over coms or in fleet channel? It's not that hard, why waste developers time and possibly make more bugs when it isn't needed.

I think his problem is with finding himself in fleet and then finding the right squad to move himself to. In large fleets there are a lot of names and squads.

Perhaps, as the WC (I only have Wing Commander and then it's only for the name anyway), I specifically don't want you in the same squad as Chribba?

In all seriousness though, if you're supposed to be in this or that squad and you aren't, why not just ask someone to move you or ask for free-move to be turned on? This stuff already exists, is so easy that even I can do it, and won't consume developer time that could be spent on other UI improvements.
