Ill make this breif. We found a wormhole in our home system in lowsec that took us to null. So our new FC drunk said lets take a fleet to null. So we managed to get a 15 man frigate fleet and hopped into null.

Five jumps in we came opon about 75-100 ships on grid on a station. fighting, FC said we will be engaging and most of us thought like WTF? We followed his entire lead and after we scared the Goonswarm fleet off we turned to the rest of them. So about 15 frigs vs 50 ships ranging from battleships ,carriers frigates and just about everything in between. We killed Battleships, T3s Battlecruisers, Frigates Mordus Legion ships and basically everthing.

My killboard popped up 2.5 bill and i missed a good 7 or 8 kills because of my slow ass brawly Hawk.

2 hours later their were to many carriers on field and it was time to GTFO. We were on grid for about 2 hours and only took two breaks to grab ammo. We lost about 3 ships.

After it was all said and done i sit drained and speachless.

Here is my Killboard

https://zkillboard.com/character/94353058/

I am sure most of you don't care and have done amazing things like this but OMMFG this was GNARLY!!!

Total kills 34, i missed a bunch of pods and a few frigs.

What you need is an understanding of game mechanics and tactics and/or a capable FC you're willing to follow. SP just gives more options and will help decide the outcome in case of an even fight (which in itself is a result of bad tactics/FCing).

Well done OP, sounds you had a ton of fun without doing the "waaah I can't do anything because they have more SP". Just, please, make your solution to the SP problem a quality one, not quantity. We already have too many of those.

Sorry to pop your bubble but chances are that you guys didn't catch what was going on. You probably went into some other parties fighting over something in the system and nobody carred much about a 15 man frigate gang.

Looks like you third partied in on a fight between CFC and Mordu's Angels. Well done, glad you had fun and a good FC :)

They probably should have cared cause judging from the final blows (I didn't look into the KMs much more) the 15 frigates cleaned up pretty well.

Skill > SP

From what i have experienced in this game there are many pilots with a lot of skills that dont even know how to fit a ship properly.

All they have done is training SP but never actually trained real pvp nor have explored this games mechanics.

It is very easy to find innexprienced players with 20 mil+ sp even in nullsec.

+1

What happened to the OP is what happens when people stop making excuses (and not just about SP) and start TRYING (while accepting the risk of loss).

I had a similar experience in Faction Warfare in 2009. Our FC (a drunk Irishman, wait, is that redundant?) led us to Tama, another fleet engaged a caldari milita fleet 1 jump from Tama and out little gate camped the Nourv gate to kill reinforcements.

they came in 1s, 2s, 10s, 50s, whatever, and the 14 of us slaughtered them all, we only left after they had killed 5 of us after an hour but the big squid fleet a jump away that they were trying to reinforce was already dead. The FC refused to leave no matter what came through that gate until the job was done, he;d warp us to a ping and warp us back down over and over.

It was in that fight and others that I learned that (space) glory goes to the (space) bold.

you can find a PL fleet to fight in the system of Amamake, they use a small fleet there so your 15 frigates should be able to kill them all

We had Goons drop on us. They had AFK camped it for a week or so, we didn't care, made more than they could destroy. When it landed we couldn't be totally prepared. Not possible to keep your guard up that long but knocked them 51% to 49% on ISK.

It was a huge boost to the moral of our pilots. "One of the largest alliances and we beat them toe to toe with miners" We have a plan for the next time someone drops like that where Black Ops battleships will becomes star dust. Blink

Congratulations OP.
