Big smile Well thanks CCP you have resolved the dilema of working out how to get my caps back from low sec to our new home in null some 13 carrier jumps away. With the recent changes to SOV which clearly was tailored to benefit the large blocks and wormhole coalitons, the continued nerfing of ships that we have long relied on in null to earn isk (Tengu, Carrier Fighter Assist) etc., I now only need an interceptor and a scan ship. I just need to be able to get back out after we run out of ihubs.

PVE carriers are dead unless you are a member of the large blocks and everyone else in null will be spending their prime time not ratting, mining or exporing or building what everyone else needs, but sitting in standing fleets waiting for the inevitble entosis attack on a sov structure. Masterfully packaged bait and swich. I can't even esitmate the isk I will get back selling them all. Lol

Well the artwork certainly has reached new heights and ship models are superb, but the mechanics that brought many of us to the diversity of this game have systemically been dismantled in favor of large block pvp and the distruction of assets, all other content is just a distraction.

I do suggest that new players be spawned in nullsec so that they can see early and first hand the futility of spending years training skills to succeed in nullsec only to have them nullified under the guise of balancing. Just my opinion.

I am sure you will lock the post immediately because we don't want any dissention in the ranks.

I find it difficult to believe intelligent people would decide to spend time like this, however, I understand intelligence isn't a requirement to be the big dogs these days. Nice rant, though. Sorta. Big smile

If you look back over the decade plus of EVE was there ever an effort to stimulate PvP? Or was it pretty much always about winning, by any means necessary?

The whole Null/ High Sec wedge has done nothing but promote the hording of asset and ISK, painting Dev's in to a corner in terms of this balance game they play. We own thousands of everything and use none of it, only keeping it for a better payday in Jita.

The corner gets tighter and tighter and eventually Development is going to go full desperation and start beating down the walls with their over powered nerf bat.

Brace yourself for the "afk camping duty" that's coming. As it's the tool of choice to drop system defense. No excuses for missing your shift, since all you're doing is... nothing.Lol

Not only PVE carriers are deads... seems that all cap are dead since jump fatigue & jump range nerf.

Who will take the risk to send caps far away, with no fast return possible to defend home ?

Adapt or die....

EVE changes all the time. If you can't learn how to change and adapt, this game is not for you, simple as that.

There's many ways to earn isk in null that don't involve purely ratting in belts. Also, even though i am sort of a carebear in hisec, even i can see that ratting in a carrier truly is an affront to it's true purpose.... That's like complaining you can't do level 2 missions in a titan.

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

This Fighter Assist thing is really grinding some people's gears isn't it?

Never mind the fact that Carriers can still USE ten fighters and be set up to have some intense Logistics. No, no. The PvE carrier is definitely dead.

I just think it's a shame that people cannot divorce what they love about a ship or mechanic from the actual utility OF those ships and mechanics.
