So the whole point of the new SOV is to drive player interaction on a smaller scale that's more enjoyable for all parties?

Then why are we buffing the most interaction deterring mechanic in the game?

In other words, planting a cloaky in an enemy system so their mining index falls through the floor...voila, free occupancy reduction.

Am I missing something?

Mining stratops with security detail.

Flying security for miners is even more boring than mining. It's just not a realistic gameplay option.

Mining in Null has two issues: Cloaky camping (which CCP should do something about) and the fact that there is little option to choose what you mine.

For cloaky camping, I suggest the new sleepers pop up and fly up to any cloaked ship, so they can scan it. If the pilot of the cloaked ship is actually at the keyboard, he can just warp off, no issue. Otherwise, he becomes a target.

As for asteroid anomalies: The issue here is you must mine them all out before you get another. Result: You cannot mine to best fit the market, and we have become glutted with so-called high end minerals. I suggest that you should be able to script the ihub, so it preferentially finds anomalies more to your liking.

No, you're not missing anything. Turns out if you don't use your space it's easier to take! What do you know?

I agree with the idea that it should be easier to take space that is empty. HOWEVER, buffing this mechanic to make it an integral part of sov warfare is just stupid.

Cloaky camper assumes NO RISK yet reaps HUGE REWARDS in the form of index drops and new 'occupancy reductions'....with, wait for it.....ZERO INTERACTION. Isn't this whole thing supposed to be promoting interaction?

Also, keep in mind I'm talking about an ACTIVE system with a strong mining index, not some back-woods forgotten system.

So what the OP is requesting is 'New Ships, weapons and modules' to solve the issue.

I propose a new line of Destroyer hulls aimed at throwing 'decloaking nets' around a grid.

You can cloak, you can remain cloaked, but you will no longer do it AFK.

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

It could be a realistic gameplay option. You could pay the security detail or you could fly shifts... I guess that would just make everything more annoying and expensive.

If an AFK cloaker is making you too scared to operate in a system, put your own AFK cloaker in it too. Then he'll be too scared to attack you.

I didn't say anything about an AFK cloaker...I said cloaky camper.

Also, one cloaky camper isn't a realistic threat to another cloaky camper. Please make sensible arguments.
