Allow us to abandon positive standing?

It would help if standings became a more interesting and less stagnant process. Encouraging only missioning.

Probably said before but there are Jump Clone corps.
One man corps with high standing that let you in, you make your clones and get out.
Often for a fee.

Or you can just go down to Provi and make some clones in one of the stations there without leaving your current corp.
Still, I am not sure the standing requirement for jump clones adds much compelling gameplay and wouldn't be surprised if that changes in the future.
Maybe because of the loop holes? Before I knew about them, I was raising faction with a corp just because of where their stations were and where I wanted my jump clones.
So, maybe the idea is sound but the implementation is not?

I spose I'll have to look into rorqual mechanics. Figured if I had to be around all the time for anyone to make use of it, what is the point. Maybe that isn't the case...

Getting Corp's standing into high 8's for JC access is pain in ass with bunch of active members low in 1's or less. Yes I know there's EACS but cmon, do we really need this sort of standing mechanic? Perhaps we can lower JC requirement or something.

Just buy a Rorqual mate...

Nice idea for those in nu; / lo but how does this help players in high sec?

The solution you are proposing hinges on something which shouldn't really exist.

For those playing at home, if you've never interacted with a corp in eve, you don't have 0 standing with them, you have null standing. Thus, here is how corp standings are calculated (approximately):

In a two man corp:

person A has 10.0 standings
person B has null standings

corp average is 10.0

alternativly:

person A has 10.0 standings
person B has run a single mission, and has 0.01 standings

corp average is (approximately): 5.01

Big difference.

It's really weird though, it makes very little sense that corps would go "we personally don't believe you exist, but because your corp has standings with us, you may use our jump clone facilities, oh figment of our imagination".

I would lower the requirement for JC facilities to 6.0, maybe 5.0, and start calculating the nulls as true zeros.
