My parents, being completely analogue and having trouble understanding the concept of copying and pasting, somehow learned of this before i did. Seems strange that this is one of the few things that really bridges the gap between generations - Devastated is maybe a strong word, but the man and the character had a strong influence on their and my perception of culture.

We shouldn't be grieving over a random guy dying at what is - let's be honest - a respectable age, but somehow the world just got a little bit darker for it.

I would totally be for naming something after him in EVE too. >_>

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

It still hasn't quite sunk in for me yet. Was just watching the original series the other day. Rest in peace, Mr. Nimoy. LLAP

My kids occasoinally ask me "Have you ever felt old, dad?"

If they ask me today, I'll have to tell them Yes for the first time.

As with many others, I grew up with the original show. Truly a sad day for all of us Trekkies.

Well, that sucks. Granted, he was in his 80s by now, but even so, it is still sad to see him go.

I...I am sitting here with tears, seeing so many wonderful tributes being paid to someone we all love. Leonard Nimoy done what others couldn't do, and that is to bridge gaps, cultures, bringing the truth of ourselves in a way unlike anything else. He brought out the best of us, he brought out a vision, he brought out the courage for us to step out into the unknown.

His hopes and dreams of exploring space, of being able to travel at speeds beyond the speed of light to far off universes, to explore strange new worlds and cultures. This is what I will cherish in his memory.

Mr. Spock will always be a part of our culture and history and for us; "To boldly go where no man gone before."

Live long and prosper.

Seems he had a full and long life but it doesnt make his passing any easier.

Yes a tribute in game would seem appropriate for such an icon.

Pretty long write up about his life and accomplishments.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

@naming something
How is this gonna pass thru Legal? Permission from relatives? Copyright from the series (if were gonna use the opening phrase and all..)? Icons! 'They' might also claim copyright, etc etc.

@the man
...and my copy of I am not Spock/I am Spock is still left unread on my 'nerd stuff' bookshelf, sigh..
