got scammed out of plex :(

You already posted on page 1 what CCP's official response was:

Read the GM reply again if you forgot about it: "It was your own mistake, we laughed at your puny attempt to get it reimbursed, while what happened is perfectly legal".

Okay, the GM might have worded it differently, to at least come across nice...but I personally think, that all those kinds of pettitions are printed out and put on a bulletin board next to the water cooler (or heater, as it's Iceland of course).

So that during breaks, the GMs and Devs can laugh about the next person who fell for a scam, and thinks he is entitled to a reimbursement.

BTW, seriously, what's wrong with the trade window? Hasn't it a mutual accept button, which voids if one party changes the content?

Damn, you are right. Private contracts are actually...free.

And yes, the trade window has that awesome fail safe system, where if any of the conditions are changed, you have to re-accept it.
So, even if you did accept it, if the other end changes teh ISK value, you have to re-accept the new value...

OP you were scammed using legitimate game mechanics, you have about as much chance of CCP reversing the trade as I have of living to the ripe old age of 365.

Your PLEX ceased to be worth real money the moment you redeemed it. You paid CCP for a PLEX and they provided it, their obligation to you ended there; what happens to that PLEX afterwards is entirely your responsibility.

To reiterate on other posts:

NEVER use the trade window to buy or sell stuff from people you can't punch in the head in real life.

Three things:

1. Scammers pay their subscription money just like you did, and thus are valid customers. CCP doesn't look at what happened to you as a loophole, they consider it valid game play. They won't remove scamming from the game just like they won't remove mining or missions. Suicide gankers like most of CODE are also valid customers, so when you get your next PLEX and try to transport it to Jita and get shot and looted, you can't ask CCP to ban all CODE or all PVP'ers just because they shot you. It's valid game play.

2. I was in the same situation recently with an alt. Jumped into a mining frigate; they give you one for free in the tutorial mission, and slow as it was, I was able to mine the stupid 8 million ISK for the market tax in about 5 hours.

3. Nobody will do you a favor for free, so if you were asking for the full price on that PLEX, that's why you got scammed. Had you asked for 650 million or something, someone legitimate would have happily traded you without scamming, because they could have made a profit... because there was something to be gained from helping you.
