Caroline's star (gate) and Time travel?

I believe CCP's latest news article is hinting towards time travel: http://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/world-news/sisters-of-eve-release-statement-on-caroliness-star-thera-incident-and-concord/

So basically the Caroline star is a gateway to the past!

It explains why the explosion and everything else was visible around all New Eden at the same time even in systems hundreds of light years away because the Caroline's star or gate now exists in the past too.

It also explains why the new ancient drifter battleships and the unknown structures are in perfect immaculate conditions because they time traveled from the past to now and as we thought they were cloaked but in fact those clouds and thunderstorms were visual time traveling anomalies.

Does that mean we might see more ancient race rats in future? Talocans, Tak mahl, Yan Jung etc

Maybe appearance of these new SOV holding forces in New Eden is to explain the upcoming changes to SOV holding ?

What are the Sisters of EVE trying to achieve here? guess we just have to wait and see.

What happens after that is all the gankers run over there and set up camps to be the first to slaughter all the carebears they anticipate will come a-runnin' as volunteers to be victims. However, only gankers show up because their definition of a carebear leaves out one thing they themselves possess not - intelligence.

So, all the gankers in EVE meet for a huge gankfest but no victims show up. SO, they start in on each other. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on who you are,) no industrial types, or miners show up so nothing gets built. No new ships are built. No new ammo, mods....the last remaining gankers go batso trying to kill each other by pod bumping.

And...the new space is empty but for whatever denizens were there before our good citizens found out about the place. One day, someone will venture forth, collect all the wrecks, weld them all into one huge glob and call it a "monument."

Monumental, really.

The right to free speech doesn't automatically carry with it the right to be taken seriously.

Also please support graphical immersion, bring back the art that brought people to EvE online originaly.

It isn't the eve gate at all. However wormholes do travel through time and space. So the drifters may have entered from one which connected to the second Jove empire

Umm.... yeah, because all the ships and structures we have from THIS time period don't look shiny and brand new. Clearly there is time travel involved.

TiDi is time travel. People in a system under TiDi are experiencing time flow slower than people outside it.

The next ship we get from CCP is either a DeLorean or a flying 4-6-0 steam locomotive.

I think CCP has very exciting things in store for us, but time travel is surely not one of them (I sure hope it ain't)

Why would we want to go to the past anyway?

Even though I do not think Time travel is actually involved, your position for argument makes no sense. Our ships ARE shiny and new... but they were built in the last couple years.

The drifter battleships look brand-spanking new, but their lore is that they are ANCIENT designs, from either the 2nd Jovian Empire or even earlier. How ships from THOUSANDS of years ago are still brand spanking new is beyond me. Especially when, lore-wise, CCP have actually said that some fleets, particularly the armies of Amarr and Minmatar, are starting to show aged wear and tear.

The drifters are different because they have either freshly built using ancient ship designs (in which case, why would you even bother?) OR, if you do choose to follow this topic's idea, did they perhaps come through a time rift?
