I'm only Amarr trained. Have come back after years off. Only 16.5mil SP. Trying to pick a ship that would be useful in fleet pvp. Is the Heretic a good ship that is needed in fleets? Any other suggestions? or go with the Heretic

Thanks

The Sacrilege is a mighty fine vessel, as is the Devoter

'Useful' is always situational. Best ask your FC what ship you should bring.

Tackle frigate.

Nobody says no to a tackle frigate.

Tickle frigates are fun too. Just so long as you have lots of booze and exotic dancers.
Anyone who says no to a tickle frigate really means yes, they're just embarrassed to admit it in front of their friends or SO.

Sacrilege was the other ship that I had heard. I just wanted to gear my training towards one ship instead of bouncing around with my training. Thanks for the info guys

Sac is more a small gang lowseccy thing, i rarely see one in fleet. Geddon, guardian, devoter, crucifier, heretic, legion, damnation, archon are all going to be more useful than a sac.

I know you're tryin real hard with them shades, that chest showin, the leather jacket, etc. but you're just not cool enough for the sacra hotness still.

Calm down miner. As you pointed out, people think they can get away with stuff they would not in rl... Like for example illegal mining... - Ima Wreckyou*

I vote for Heretic.

Everyone can use more interdictors. Sure, Sabre is more popular, but Heretic isn't significantly worse as a 100% focused fleet bubbler, and unlike the Sabre, it can also be fit to be a pretty amazing solo boat with Light Missiles and a kiting setup. If you either ditch the bubble or make a REALLY tight fit, the Heretic can rock lowsec as well as nullsec fleet fights.

I love the Heretic.

Define 'fleet pvp' and 'fleets'.

Responses will heavily depend on your answer as one ship might shine in a 'fleet' of 5, but be horrible in a 'fleet' of 200 and vice versa.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

If you've been off for years you might find T1 cruisers are a lot more popular than when you left.

If you have Amarr Cruiser 5 (and the various pre-reqs which are usually quick to train) you can open up Recon/Logi and HAC and be reasonably effective in them with the shipskill trained to level 4. You really don't need level 5 unless you're planning on doing solo or very small gang PVP. Ignore people who recommend maxing a shipskill before using it. They're usually daft.

It's probably worth finding a group to fly with before sorting out a long skillplan. Some may ask you to train specific comps which can be annoying if you've just remapped and end up having to train offspec.
