New Drifter Theory

Taken from the prophecy : "what was many now becomes one when one becomes four"

"what was many now becomes one" - this may point to a unification of the Jove (Enheduanni et all) - either structural or possibly something related to the Construct. Maybe they have adopted the Construct completely also, like the Sleepers. Or maybe they simply decided it's time for a new Jove Empire.

"when one becomes four" - strangely enough, so far we have four Drifter pilots:

  • Apollo Tyrannos
  • Artemis Tyrannos
  • Hikanta Strategos* (not available yet but present in build 862143 of Tiamat on Sisi - shares the same description with Apollo and Artemis - http://www.schildwall.info/assets/sisi/tiamat/index.html )
  • Tyrannos Strategos

    • Since they all are capsuleer pilots, they may be clones under the guidance of the new unified Jove, tasked with the protection of their new re-organization.

    Judging by their naming they seem to come in pairs - Artemis and Apollo as the frontline and Hikanta and Strategos as the back-line, or leadership. Or possibly, again extrapolating from the naming, Hikanta is another organization ?

    * - I was yet unable to track something down regarding the name "hikanta" (apart from the Malagasy word meaning "beautiful"). So far the Drifters have followed the latin-greek naming line, so it's either a placeholder or CCP knows something I don't (most likely).

    "one becoming four" seems more appropriate for our race. Who are now split into 4 factions.

    "many becoming one" could hold true for the jovians or maybe the sleepers in general

    So the jovians and their subsects are becoming one and the other part of humanity was one and has splitted into 4

    That is a theory also.
    We do not yet know for certain.

    What I do know from prophecy-crafting in general if something in one is super-obvious, it usually isn't.
    However as I said, that is a theory also.
    I'm just proposing mine.

    Yep, we now have the final four :D (crossing zebras article).
    Two days ago, after reading the article and made the connection about "many becomes one, one becomes four" (in the comments), I didn't know about the forth drifter and I was assuming that it will come at a latter time. Nice catch with the forth model man Smile

    Anyway, it will all go to dust if we're going to see the 5-th drifter model Lol

    Well, for the moment everything's possible.
    It just frustrates me that most likely we won't get a reveal until Fanfest.
    The wait is killing meeee ! :)

    Whatever the case - these are very interesting times in EVE and CCP have really outdone themselves this time.
    Can't remember a time when everyone was so hyped about EVE lore, lol :)

    P.S. Keep your eyes on the Gallente presidential inauguration - I'm convinced something big is gonna happen with it.

    Sorry for the quick copy paste from the Crossing Zebras article comments, but I wanted to make it all it all clear for what I have to add, without wasting a lot of time :P

    To be honest I was thinking that when they merged into the super-mind they gave up on their bodies and individuality forever. After that, whenever needed the super-mind started downloading / copying a part of the consciousness into a few clone archetypes, like Apollo, Artemis, Strategos and the forth yet to be revealed. Something like an ant queen using specialized ants, similar to Ender's saga, or cylon models from Battlestar Galactica.


    The Drifter description, especially the part with: "high degree of cybernetic modification" and "Drifters exhibit an implacable single-mindedness" seems to link very well with the idea.

    I still wonder what happened to Tibus Heth after Sansha got him.
    Maybe he is going to crop up soon, and his rocky brain will afford him some noteworthy immunity to send us all the red alert message. Leaving us now having to decide if we trust in Heth, or if its just another trap.
    Regardless, bring the battle freighter.
