Level 4 Machariel fit?

Hey guys. This character is my incursion alt, but I'm tired of running incursions for several reasons- most of which have to do with waiting an hour to get into a fleet, and not being able to take a break on my own terms without waiting another hour again.

So I'm looking to use my training for level 4s.

With my skills and upgrading to 4 mid-grade Crystal implants, this fit puts out 1009 paper DPS, and 352 peak tank (with 211 stable). The DPS seems more than enough, but the tank has me concerned. I don't think that's going to be enough. If I use deadspace invulns, it goes up to 439/267, but that still seems a bit low.

Maybe I'm too concerned about the tank, and I'm entirely willing to believe that's possible. What other options do I have for the fit?

Fitting Deadspace invuls while solo missioning will make you a gank target and you can guarantee your tank is not enough when that happens.

You say this is an alt, do you have a logi on another account ?

the tank you have 'should' be okay for the amount of dps you've got. If you're not very experienced with running 4s, you might want to take a MJD with you on a few missions just for some security on your investment.

The only feedback I've got for the fit is that you should consider fitting warpspeed rigs, a MWD, and a tractor beam. The Mach is a great blitzer and has huge mobility advantages so it is a good idea to make use of them.... but unfortunately, warpspeed rigs take up alot of CPU which makes shield tanking kinda difficult with them. If you need to shield tank, dropping down to a pithum medium sb can still give you a good tank, but then your fit is going to get pretty expensive pretty quick. The tractor beam ur going to want just from some quality of life reeling in mission objective items and significant loot (like scarlet's implant, zor's wreck, etc)

Armor tanking it will save you some CPU for warpspeed rigs and let you use tracking computers instead of enhancers, which will give you greater projection.

Surprisingly cheap and more effective. Burst use the shield booster as and when needed. The tractor beam is very handy to have to grab those mission objectives and the complex and dread booster are dirt cheap. Fit your tank to what the mission DPS is as this allows to get the most out of your tank. MWD only when you need to. Hyperspacial rigs are a must as this saves valuable time and I would drop your implants for a set of Ascendancies and slot six get a WS-615 so you can warp faster than frigates. Drop the ogres and bring warriors for dealing with frigates. I also find t1 ammo gets the best bang for your isk as do cap 400s.

Personally I like armour tanking it more.

I was doing lvl4 for sisters of eve with this fit:

4 faction gyros
3 tracking enhancers, sometimes swaped one for damage control

Core 100 nm afterburner (the one that takes less cap)
Gistum a-type large shield booster
Pith x-type shield amp
Pith b-type invuls x2

800mm autocannons

Rigs were CCC , cause I liked to be cap stable.

But then gankers came to system and I sold this Machariel.
You can fit it with t2 modules, but it really shines with faction mods. Nowadays I use t2 fitted Gila + t2 fitted Tengu.

Also Machariel is really good when you have Minnie / Gallente Bs to lvl5 and gunnery maxed out. With average skills it is a very average ship.

I mostly fly the arty version these days. Overall the mach is pretty cookie cutter, and the other fits don't have to many major differences. The rigs are pre-warp speed changes so it is possible that the warp speed version above is a bit better. the way I use my mach I should probably switch to a warp speed rig setup.

Since I'm running SoE missions in Minnie space, she's set up to tank and kill Angels. Angels actually do all four damage types, hence the Invul + two specific resists setup. Thermal and EM is minor though, so you could cut the Invul for another mid if you like.
I don't recommend the MWD for most missions. The reason being that if you have to travel to a gate to reach the next part of a mission, you most likely will have to kill things along the way anyway. Slow boat to gate, only turn AB on when everything is dead, or you really need to up your traversal. It won't cut into your cap as much as a MWD. Besides, once you know the missions, you'll know when to take the MWD over the AB anyway.
The CCCs are only there because I'm lazy and haven't changed them. I also still use standard ammo over faction or T2 because I have so much of it from when I needed to be cheap. Gotta use up the supply ya know.
With good skills, and smart target prioritization, the only thing that'll be running constantly are the active resists. She's got a nice natural recharge, so you really won't need a cap booster. I used to fit one, and after probably over 100 missions of never ever once touching the damn thing, I took it off.
This is also not a huge gank target. Coupled with the fact that I can clear even WC and AE without really touching the shield booster, you probably won't need to worry about the tank either. Seriously, it melts targets that fast.

Now, if you don't want to blitz missions, but would rather stage clear and salvage, I will tell you NOT to run the Mach. Instead drop into a Marauder. If you go with the Vaygur, you can basically run it how I have my Mach fit, but throw on the bastion mod(obviously). Mission running will then turn into this:
Warp to encounter at 0.
Turn on Bastion.
Get Stage Aggro.
Kill everything.
Drop Mobile Tractor Unit.
Go to next pocket and repeat, or return to station to reship and salvage.
Profit.

Honestly, Marauders are ******** now. They will also, by the way, lower your anxiety about your tank lol.

Newish character get lvl 5 learning imps, older character get warp speed high grade ascendancy imps slot 1-5 and slot 6 = WS-618. (you can use the gamma of course but it cost like 800m more for roughly 1% more warp speed)

I'm lazy so i don't like to switch any hardeners, this is the best bang for your buck.
Treats:
-Killing speed is ridiculous because of the very good tracking it gives you the edge in killing frigs and cruiser. Use keep at range 12km for any BS and you will experience penetrated and smashed hits a lot. That is 12.5%-50% more DPS, at avrg. 15%-20% more DPS
-Tank is enough for 99% of all LvL 4 missions. You should be careful in Enemies Abound part 1 and some storyline missions, overheat the Invul first in case.
-Cap is no problem at all after the 50% reduction for MWD.
-The warp speed with imps is 5.9 AU Shocked. Compared to a normal BS you get about 5-10min each hour more time in missions.
-Some benchmark, time to clean The Blockade vs Angel is ~12mins

Fitting and numbers ALL V Char, if you lack CPU skip the Tractor Beam or use Faction TE
DPS:
EFT 1083 at 4.1+65km
Real 1083 at 12km
Real 1033 at 20km
Real 935 at 30km
with 1xOR script, 1xTS script, without Drones
Tracking:
0.09 with 1xOR script, 1xTS script
With grouped guns 4 and 3, each group will one shot any non elite Frig between 30 to 50km
All guns will need 2x cycles=6.2sec to kill any non elite Cruiser between 20 to 30km

468 DPS omni overheat Invul
594 DPS omni overheat Invul+Booster
