Blocking chats

Is there a feature (aside from blocking everyone) to not have chat text appear? I am not really interested in speaking with people in local or alliance chats. It would be great to have the window open to see who is in local without having to block every nitwit who speaks.

Drag the chat window so that the part you don't want to see is off-screen?

You can manipulate the window so that chat text is only 1 character wide per line. You'll see that something is there but it's hard to read unless you make a conscious effort

other random alliance member: did ya report that in intel channels ??

random alliance member: no,, is here not good enough ?

you jump gate,, opppss. Roll

sometimes, them there chat channels can be handy Blink

Why don't you.. I dunno, minimize or hide them? Local you only need to show the local list, alliance you don't seem to need at all.

Sounds like you are all primed to play by yourself. If you dont need chat channels, why be in an alliance? EVE is a social game, you cant cherry pick what you like about it (security in numbers), without the "negatives" (altho having a chat channel open is not really a negative).

Other then that, blink off on corp and alliance windows, have local open only, and hide the chat pannel itself behind another UI element.

EDIT - for the record, relying on Local as your security makes you a gigantic WIMP, just another carebear. try playing in wormholes, where the real men go and where real pew happens.

Just resize local so it's tall and narrow and you can see who is in system without the chat taking up space.

Wow. If turning blink off and minimize chat is already this hard...I think EVE is doomed.

split your chats so corp is by its self, turn off blink for alliance and local and minimize them. Done

Drag the window off screen, a vital tool if you are around CODE infested systems. although it would be nice if the game remembered that on restart.
