Launcher is perma failed

I searched and there are some similar posts, but they dont seem to be quite the same. So apologies if this is a known issue being resolved.

This happened previously following a patch and I had to do a full reinstall, this time however a full reinstall doesn't help. My client says it is 'Downloading Eve Launcher Update' but never starts and never completes. The repair tool fails at 80% every single time, it takes a minute or to to get to this and then stays here for at least 4 hours, presumably forever. The repair tool doesnt seem to contain any logic for dealing with failed downloads or patching and never times out. This seems odd for a tool to repair installations.

There seems to be no way to manually patch, repair or any prospect of being able to log into the game again. I cannot find anything useful here or with google. it seems until I get a fix for this, I cannot play at all.

Any help?

You can try downloading and reinstalling the launcher using this version:

You may have already done this, but you haven't said exactly where you're getting your full reinstall.

Thank you, actually I had just gone to the site and downloaded from scratch to a new folder.

This patch location seems to fix my game, however all my settings seem to be fully blown away. UI setup, channels, all my market quickbar settings. is there any way to recover this? This will take me a very long time to fix.

How would I find this link again if I had to do this next time, without someone sending me a direct link?

On a side note, this isnt the first time this happened to me and it seems to be common. Is there any action to be taken on fixing the launcher so it is possible to recover from a patch without downloading gigs of data and having to rebuild all client settings?

I've been having the same issue as others, the client says " creating eve online" ( a bunch of random numbers and letters) and stops responding entirely. trying to close the launcher crashes it, and i have to end process. I just tried installing the new launcher from the previously given link, but all i get is a gray bar, not update progress of any kind.

I am having launcher problems as well, and the link does not correct anything at all. I am unable to patch or enter the game.

Link to download is worthless for me.

Mine won't download at all. Bounces between 0 and 2.5kb/s but doesn't acquire any data. Just not working.

Launcher is failing every time I launch it, crashes when I try to close it. Deleting the cache doesn't seem to change anything, just freezes and crashes again.

Same here. Launcher isn't patching. Try to close it and it crashes.

When I ctrl-alt-delete to get to Task Manager and open it, there are two instances of "Launcher.exe" running in the process list. But when I close one, they both close. I have no idea if that's relevant to anything but figured I'd post it here in case some tech-savy person had any inspiration as to what might be going on.

Wish someone at CCP would acknowledge this issue. I mean, I know it's 3am in Reykjavik, but this is really frustrating.

Must be how some of us are getting routed just had friends able to patch and able to download that launcher update. But I and apparently many others cannot.

I am still having this issue.

I have been having this issue over the past two weeks.

Every time there is a new update (does not matter of the size) it crashes my launcher and EVE repair tool doesn't work either.

I go to the link suggested and it will not allow me to download anything from there either. It is not my PC, it is not my connection, and I have disabled all security/firewalls.

I've gone through many support messages back and forth and still not resolved. I think it has something to do with TZ because at my work computer I never have any issues (downloading in EUTZ) but it is always my home computer that has issues (which is many times faster in both PC specs and network speeds).

I've even tried completely uninstalling all EVE files and installing again from scratch (when it lets me do this) and the issue solely resides in downloading patches/updates. When there aren't updates/patches I effortlessly connect and have 0 lag.

Patience is running really, really thin with this!!! EvilEvilEvilEvilEvilEvil

I've had my two accounts reactivated for about a week or so now and still can't get anything to download or work. Tried to download the game the normal way, I get "Target Payload Not Found". Try to download the offline files, download won't even start... Download the offline files from a computer at work and transfered them via flash drive and finally get the game installed. Start the launcher and its stuck in offline mode. I have tried all the little downloads from everywhere on he forums, nothing works. The repair tool wont do anything either so thats a dud. Not sure what to do at this point, email support takes 24 hrs between replies so Im getting no where over a long time...

I have had problems with EVE Launcher few weeks now. I have been able to start EVE from the bin folder, but after last patsh I get two "Socket was closed" messages immediately when I log in. I've tried most as suggested by search Googel, including link that CCP Darwin refers to. Only change after installation it is that the "reset" button was now removed from the last of the two "The socket was closed" message who have now only a "Quit" button.

Maybe CCP Darwin trying to tell us that precisely quiting is the only solution

Update:
I have now fixed the problem. Send me a mail in game and one billion ISK and I will tell you how I repaird my eve client, or you can wait until CCP Darwin figure it out.

I have not had the launcher work for me in well over a year. I thought it was a pain in the ass/POS from the day CCP implemented it, and it sure proved itself to me. Thank God I haven't had any problems with repair.exe.

My launcher started working again a few days ago but now it has stopped again. Coming here to see if there were any updates, I noticed that background images for the forum are not loading either now, which is peculiar. The launcher freezes and needs to be forced to close and repair.exe does nothing, same as last time. Attempting to download the client or launcher tool also fails, just like last time.
