Is Prospect gas yield higher than a Venture?

The stats look the same, just some different fitting (more lows) and the Covops cloak and losing the +2 warp core str. Is there any other advantage to gas mining that I'm not seeing?

Bridging through covert cyno, weapon hard points LolPirateTwisted, warping around cloaked and some other minor things come to mind as main differences.

Aside from what has already been pointed out, no gas yield for both the Venture and Prospect is the same if the level of Mining Frigate is the same.

The Prospect gains a yield advantage for mining (per level of expedition frigate) that the Venture doesn't gain, but otherwise their bonuses are the same for Mining Frigate and Role.

Where there can be a difference is that Mining Frigate V is a prerequisite for the Prospect (so 25% reduction in harvesting duration), where the Venture only requires Mining Frigate I (so 5-25% based on skill level).

Venture

Mining Frigate bonuses (per skill level):
5% bonus to Mining yield
5% reduction in Gas Cloud Harvesting duration

Role Bonus:
100% bonus to Mining and Gas Cloud Harvesting yield
2+ bonus to ship warp core strength

Prospect

Mining Frigate bonuses (per skill level):
5% bonus to Mining yield
5% reduction in Gas Cloud Harvesting duration

Expedition Frigates bonuses (per skill level):
5% bonus to Mining yield
5% reduction in ship signature radius

Role Bonus:
100% bonus to Mining and Gas Cloud Harvesting yield
100% reduction in Cloaking Devices CPU requirement
• Can fit Covert Ops Cloaking Device and Covert Cynosural Field Generator
• Cloak reactivation delay reduced to 5 seconds

The Prospect has a deliciously small signature radius with training, meaning that it is more likely that someone trying to scan you down will instead have to scan down the gas site you are in. The Prospect also can be fitted to GTFO much more effectively than a Venture thanks to having more low slots. Finally, as has been mentioned, the cloak will save you in more situations than the warp strength will and the larger ore hold is wonderful.

But in terms of gas yield, no difference than a Venture with Mining Frigate trained to V.

Forgot to add: The Prospect also has a larger standard cargo hold than the Venture, allowing you to carry a mobile depot and an assortment of refits. Major benefit.

I see, for gas they're identical but for ore the prospect has an advantage because of the stacking mining bonus from Exp Frig

OP keep in mind the gas harvester range is lower than cloaking distance. Also gas constellation in null are far away from hisec empire borders. It's a fun ship with limited usefulness.

I make LOADS of cash mining gas sites in WHs in my venture. I call all my buds and we suck as much gas as we can outta every site for 20 min each :)

With a horribly low EHP you would die before the fleet would bridge more often than not. Frigs need speed to stay alive and a Cyno kills that advantage.

Also since a Blogs gang and bridge to a T1 cyno you can use pretty much any ship with a big enough cargo hold for fuel and tank/tackle.

Better to keep on using the Venture, cheaper KM and its not like warping to the POS and back takes very long so the Cargo hold is not a huge issue.
