POS forcefield access

Good morning people!

If I set up a POS (in lowsec) through an alt corp and give the forcefield password to others (not in corp), what can they do apart from sitting inside the shield?

Can they take things from silos or hangars?

Can they offline or unanchor stuff?

Can they shoot at anything from inside the shields? Including in-shield structures or, say, myself if I'm inside?

Can they mess with any reaction or production flows I had set up?

Can they mess with the tower itself (offlinining, stront, password, etc.)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Keep in mind I never set up a POS so assume I'm a total newb (even though I've been reading a lot)!

No x 5
(unless the shooting thing changed since I managed towers)
When I managed towers you couldn't target anything inside the field. What you can do is bump ships out of the shield protection so don't afk in there with someone you don't trust. (Keep tower at range 500)

EDIT: unless you set the access rights to that people can take things from SMAs and hangars. Don't remember if you can see it to corp/alliance/totally free or only the first two.
But given the correct settings and that you want to keep stuff from pilering hands it's 5x no.

1. No. A POS is a corp asset, needs corp roles, so guess the answer for people not in corp?

2. No. A POS is a corp asset, needs corp roles, so guess the answer for people not in corp?

3. ANY form of targeting is prohibited inside a POS forcefield, so guess how much shooting they can do (p.s. smartbombs don't work either - NO offensive module for that sake, which includes a cyno).

4. See answer 1, when still in doubt, see 2.

5. See answer 1, 2 and 4.

Out of corp:

They can sit in the bubble (and with friendly settings, can use a Jump bridge if anchored to the POS).

* Not sure about this, but possible they can also refit on SMA, but not acces the storage of it*

They can access gear in any giant secure containers you may have left inside the POS shields.

They can access ships left parked inside the shields (with no pilot).

Basically they can switch ships inside the field and set up their own cans with extra gear. Of course, everything is based on scout's honor; you can name the ship Gully's Megathron and the can Gully's Gear Do Not Take but anyone with the password can certainly take.

Unless things have changed since I've worked with this with regards to allowing access even if you wanted to allow outside corp access to people within the Alliance I think you can allow Alliance mates to drop stuff in certain PoS mods but that is it. They can't take they can't use they can't even see what is in there. Alliance mates used to be able to remotely use labs if they had an office in system but remote lab usage has been removed from the game.

Within the corp all access to everything that you asked about is set by roles so that is more of a corp management question than a PoS question.

With regards to people floating inside the shield like other's have said they can jump into an empty ship floating in space. They can bump and empty ship outside the PoS shields and they can access any anchored containers the same as they could if they were floating in some random location in space. You can't target, not even to repair drones. Wormholers have to leave their PoS shields to repair their drones.

Jump bridge sits out side of POS shields so anyone can use a jump bridge if they know the password even enemies but JB is a special case and kind of unique in that anyone can use it.

Also, do remember that depending on their standings, its entirely possible your POS might shoot them if they wander outside, so make sure your guns settings and your alt corps standings to them are right unless you want an accident Big smile
