Navy Customs avoidance when carrying Combat Boosters - Is it possible?

Hi Pirate

I have a very pertinent issue - faction standings loss when carrying Combat Boosters, which are contraband, in high-sec. Now, it isn't always possible to fly a ship with 3 Nanofibs and 3 IS - anything remotely tanky still gets caught by the Customs just as soon as the gate jump is initiated.

So, is there a way to schmuggle Combat Boosters without being discovered? Pirate Haven't tried a Secure Container yet, though I'm certain it won't work.

Regards,

Blink

I'm not an expert, but add Customs Drone to your overview and remove Concord, Police, and Faction Navy Drone, and scout the route with an empty ship?

Because they don't have Customs at every single gate, only at certain gates.

Then try to use the autopilot avoidance settings to avoid the star systems with customs; autopilot should plot a different route if one is possible.

Im sorry, but I was to understand that there will be no combat allowed in highsec.. so smuggling in boosters seems like a waste.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Either a bug got up your butt or you been listening to the wrong people, again. Did you just join an alliance? You look kinda...different.

The answer to the QUESTION is, the DEA's got nothin' on CONCORD. Their scanners will read the DNA on a flea's right testicle even while the dog is lickin'...if you get my drift. Sad

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I'm not clear what you're trying to say/ask. You want to move boosters in any ship possible? I've been caught once ever, and that was because I screwed up and hung out on a gate too long. If you're looking to leave high sec to low/null, you either need to plan ahead and move them to a spot for easy pickup, or take them prior to leaving.

What about Blockade runners? Covop cloak can't be scanned through I believe (dunno if the cargo immunity scan bonus on Blockade runners works for Customs tho)

Can't avoid customs scan in any ship.

Best to use an alt that you don't care about the standings on and just say no when discovered. Have 0 ISK in the wallet and the fine even becomes meaningless. Direct trade from the courier to another character in station so no ISK is required.

That's not from my own experience as I've only ever jumped into highsec by accident with boosters in my cargo; and normally I buy them one jump from lowsec, so have just copped the status hit when I've been scanned.

I just understand from other threads that this is the common approach to smuggling drugs to market.

So far as I've ever known, this is the correct way to do it. Fozzie has mentioned that giving Blockade runners a scan immunity to NPC's is a thing that is under consideration, but no plans to do that currently exist.

Exactly that. Pirate Carrying 1-2 boosters for PVPeh. Guess I'll use an alt to move them 1j from Lowsecks, as Scipio suggested. What?

Older pilots may also have the Blackmarket skill that improves your chances of getting past.. Sadly this isn't available to us modern players :(

And, like the old Snake implant bonus, it doesn't work anyway.

That's why the bonus was removed from them, the Black Market Trading skill being creation only means they didn't have to remove it but...

I researched this, too.

My personal conclusions:

1. Fast aligning covops is pretty good, but not 100% safe
2. Scouting ahead to avoid gates with customs npcs is 100% safe, but ~effort~

I chose to go with 1 until I get caught, because ~lazy~

You have to scout and avoid or wait for customs to move on.
If you are on grid within 10km of a customs frigate you are insta-busted.
Just move em in a shuttle piloted by a toon whose standings you don't care about.

Here's the thing.

Customs are on gates between regions, and between constellations (i dont think they're on every gate, and believe they may only be on THESE types of gates).

Do you see what you have to do now?

You travel a low sec route to at least the constellation that your destination is in, and then pass to your final location from there. Doin this properly, will allow you to bypass the customs guys (rare instances exempt from this, wherein, some one has moved them to the improper gate by bad smuggling). There's ALWAYS bugs with this idea, but this is the main way of avoiding them.

Not all constellations are going to have a low sec access, and so you will have to risk the customs anyway.

Dont believe me? Check it. I very well could be wrong, because its' been a long time, and EVE changes all the time.

Use a BR with covops cloak and istabs in the lows. If you arrive on gate and get scanned, just jump out. you can say no while in the warp tunnel.

I've only once ever been scanned on the other side (got distracted), and that one time since I was cloaked they were not able to web/scram/etc. So I just said no and warped away.

Customs are a joke. They are completely ineffective except for a small isk fine and the standings penalty, which can be easily ground back up using missions.

What if smuggling boosters didn't result in the annoying popups or fines, but flagged you as a suspect?

That would likely make it less of a hassle than it is now ^^
