Combat or Industrial/Mining?

I'm going to have a limited amount of play time over the next 2-3 months during a busy time at the office, so I need to pick either my combat focused or industrial/mining focused character to play. Given that I'll only have 1-2 hours a day to play most often, what are your (the community) suggestions as to which toon I should move forward with.

Both are roughly equal in skill points (28 million-ish).

Industry can definitely be a little less time consuming if you put in enough work beforehand, but then it gets monotone.

Pvp can be done pretty well within the 2 hours since that's how long most fleets tend to last, but can drain the wallet relatively quick and sometimes be erratic on how much content you find on a given day.

I would honestly juggle between the two depending on what's going on around the day.

E: I wouldn't do mining at all if I were to choose. I only did it before as a secondary task while working on industry jobs and spreadsheets. Not worth the limited time you have in my opinion.

I humbly suggest you use the time you have in EVE in a way you enjoy most. Since I have no idea whether that's mining or shooting, I cant be clearer than this.

If all else fails, switch between mining and combat days for a while and reflect on what the "awesome" days were and why.

Minig, at leadt you will earn some extra isk on ore/minerals. And buy a few new ships for combat when you fully back.

I would recommend FW if you enjoy PVP. You'll get some PVP practice in and be able to make a decent amount of isk to boot going to an NPC FW corp or joining a player corp that fits your schedule. You're not going to have to roam for hours to find a fight usually and most the time the fight comes to you, plus if you don't get a fight you're still going to be able to turn a profit with the LP you accumulate and later cash out.

Not sure how much you can make in an hour or two of mining with a single char or if isk/hr is a consideration or if you enjoy mining. FW is definitely the way to go for PVPers with time constraints though IMO.

28 million skill points and you ask that question?

Yeah, industry will give you more latitude in ups and downs. Getting commited to a life-threatening, cataclysmically epic struggle with the potential for dire results....I don't think, "I have to do something, brb," will go over so well.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I suggest you shoot miners, this way you get the best out of both worlds.

None.

Combat-Industry is the name of the game, a new coming of Battle Badgers and Guntures is at hand!

All posts and mails screencapped and time stamped, including out of EVE, you will not reverse on me.

Might come in handy!

SP doesn't equal game experience.. i.e. just logs on to update skillqueue (in the past). And with the longer skillqueue, its easy to leave your high SP/hr digital tamagochi in the background, skilling up things you think you will use.. lol.

Ontopic, there is also merit in being able to do anything and everything. You might get bored of updating all those market orders, planetary timers, manufacturing slots, research agents, etc.. so you would explore for a bit, do missions, jump into lowsec, fleet up with public NPSI roams, etc.. there would be always something to do.

That would be debatable given a group of people capable of that.

Make enemies and snuggle them, 1-2 hours is plenty of time for killing/dying in a glorious manor.

I am just here to snuggle and do spy stuff.

Just buy a plex and fly cheap frigs/cruisers until you're back. No grind, just the shakes.

You cannot become expert in combat on 1-2 hours a day for 2 months. But you can try.
