Safe data/relics site?

Hi guys,

First of all I’m a new player in Eve for about a week.
I already play the game last year but not for long.

I like exploration and I would like to make more money from this job.
I started in high sec during a day but I went directly in low sec to find more interesting loots.

Now I’d like to go in wormhole. I’m actually flying with a Magnate wich I don’t mind losing because it’s very cheap and I have enough money to replace it easily.

I will have enough skills to have an anathema in a few days and I would like to use it to go deeper in space 

My main question is : is there safe sites in C1, C2 or C3 wormholes where I can find data or relic sites without pirates ?

I won’t be able to fight against anything because I don’t even fit weapond on my exploration ships.
I wanted to buy an astero for exploration. Mainly because this ship is f*****g sexy in my opinion. But I don’t think I know the game enough to not loosing it stupidly so I’d rather go on an cheaper covops.

In case there is pirates, is AStero enough to fight them or not ?

Thank you for your answers and sorry for my english. It’s not my native language and it’s a bit hard to talk about a game I don’t know, in another language Smile.

By and fly safe.

Yes there are null sec data/relic sites which can be found in wormholes (the names will start with sansha/blood raider etc)
The astero is a good ship for these but i'd go with a cover ops frig until you get more isk.

There are other data/relic sites which have sleepers in them which are wormhole rats (pirates). An astreo will not be able to kill these rats and you will die in a fire if you try.

If you are unsure as to what kind of data/relic site it is then warp to it cloaked to see if there are rats in it, if there are then leave, if not then hack away.

I don't need twitter. I'm already following you.

Be advised that EVE is a pvp game and inside WHs are many other folks that will try and blow you up. Learn to use D-Scan and stay on your toes. WHs are some of the most dangerous areas in EVE for the daytripper or one not versed in the gameplay.

The most "safe" sites are in high sec....but even there some asshat may try and bait you into a fight.

Hi and thanks for the answers.

I'm gonna look for those sites without pirates as soon I my covops cloak skills will be available.

I know even without pirates, players are biggest threat. But I like this side of the game. Even if I can't defend myself I like being the little noob lost in the universe trying to make his way and surviving.

I always align to something, always cloaking, and always scanning :)

Now I will look for those {name} date/relic sites and I will explore them :)

Do not be discouraged if you get murdered. One relic site will pay for your ship. just keep plugging away.

I died twice with my Magnate wich is not a big deal considering the cost.

Now that I have my cloak device I'm ok, but a covops cloak would be better (and a MWD!)

Considering the fact that I subscribed with the offer a few days ago, and a friend sell the plex he won.
I have half a billion in my wallet and I'm considering buying an astero to wait until I have enough skill to fly with a covops.

Do you think it is a good idea? Or waiting for covops is wiser because I don't have enough experience to not lose the astero?
(I have already the mastery 1 on this ship).
Or should I already try to go in nulsec with my magnate during the learning of covops skill?

Again thanks for the answer :)

always remember to never take something into a WH that you cant afford to lose.

Also keep in mind those cloaked smart-bombing prots closing from 10km

Well I guess I can afford to buy some astros if I lose one.

But I have 9 days before having the covops cloak so I will stay in Low sec during this time and learn how to fly the astero. Maybe trying to chase the other explorers in sites ^^

I must admit I don't know what a smart bomb is.
I've learn (the hard way...) what stealth bomber were. I've always managed to escape but one day or another I think they'll got me :)

I think I'm donna give the Astero a try, this little thing is too sexy. And if I lose it so be it. I'll buy a covops :)

Fitting the Astero for combat is the right way, it will make short work of a SB, who is able to scram you, and any other exploration frig. A smart bomb is an area of effect weapon killing you if you are in it's proximity (no lock required).

Ok I'm gonna try to fit the little thing to destroy some explorers.

I'm becoming what I hate :)

But I would like to be able to explore in the same time.
And I'm a bit affraid of removing the items wich make me harder to scramble, do I have to remove them to put active armor repairer and this kind of stuff?

I will try to avoid smart bomb, but if they can launch this being stealth it's gonna be difficult :)

You have to decide, being able to fight (no warp core stabs) or being able to run better only (4 stabs plus 2 nozzles in rigs). Both at the same time is not possible for reason, even one stab will cripple your fighting capabilities too much (reduced locking speed and range). Though you may combine with refitting the low slots via NPC station or mobile depot. Smartbombs are highslot modules as any other ship weapon (not to be confused with actual bombs from bomb launchers). The ships using them (T3 Cruisers, so no chance of fighting in a frig) sneak on you cloaked and if in range (around 6km), decloak and unleash hell on you if you are an untanked explorer.

What I can tell you, being the hunter feels much better than being the prey. ;) ...also the tactics you develop help you to survive on the other side.

You can also make as much money, if not more, from hunting and killing people running these sites. Once you feel comfortable, you can even start killing people running the combat anomalies. They do the grind, you get the reward.

Hi Lagertha!

I wouldn´t recommend it to fight with an Astero - it´s only a little Frig and way to expensive to lose it against NPCs or (better PvP-experienced) players.

The Astero is really good for exploration, it´s fast and sexy.
I fitted it 100% for speed and agility, try to avoid ANY fight.

Instead of a Microwarpdrive I installed an Afterburner, because the MWD increases the signature radius (which makes you faster to lock and hit).
Instead of a Warpcorestab I installed some Nanofiber Internal Structures, because the stabs reduce the tracking range (which makes you very ineffective in data/relic sites).
And, of course, some propulsion RIGs.

And I launch a bunch of Hornet EC-300 in aggressive mode during hacking the sites, which maybe give you a few seconds in addition, when a hunter shows on the grid...

If you wanna explore and fight, I would recommend the Stratios with an armor tank fitting and some tough combat drones.
I saw such a Stratios blowing up a High-DPS-Tengu...
