Hey everyone,

I'm making this post because I'm wanting to see if others have been exposed to this, cause i honestly can't tell if this is legit or not (yes, noob).

Long story short, lost 800 M in a gank outside Jita, and a few days later i received a message:

Quote:
Hi there,

I noticed on public killboards you had an expensive loss not so long ago.
Do you want me to make you an offer to reimburse your loss?

Check my bio for more info and reply if you want me to make you an offer.
If you still have your kill mail that would be of great help.

Best

Valerio

I responded kindly, as I am obviously interested, if this is legit. I then received another message explaining the details:

Quote:
I have verified your loss on public killboards. Total value just over 833 Mln ISK. What i will do is offer you an insurance payout. Downbelow you will find the insurance payout offer and instructions on how to claim your payout.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me any time.

Fly safe, Valerio

Insurance loss file nr: 44295623

How does it work?
Our insurance works very simple. We have already estimated the value of your loss based on killboard information. The total value of your loss is displayed below. Please pick your level of insurance below and transfer the cost of the level of your choosing to me. Please do not forget to add the insurance loss file number as description to your transaction. You will get the corresponding payout value in return. We normally payout in about 5min. Please DONT forget to include the correct insurance loss file nr as a description when you transfer the insurance cost, or processing your payout may take a while longer!

Total value of your loss: ISK 833.217.774,69

(Step 1) Pick level of insurance :
Basic………………………….. cost ISK 20.830.444,37 payout value ISK 416.608.887,35 50% payout
Standard…………………… cost ISK 41.744.210,51 payout value ISK 499.930.664,81 60% payout
Bronze………………………. cost ISK 62.408.011,32 payout value ISK 583.252.442,28 70% payout
Silver…………………………. cost ISK 83.321.777,47 payout value ISK 666.574.219,75 80% payout
Gold……………………………. cost ISK 103.860.595,62 payout value ISK 749.895.997,22 90% payout
Platinum……………………. cost ISK 137.480.932,82 payout value ISK 833.217.774,69 100% payout

This includes a 50% discount versus the normal ingame insurance cost!

(Step 2) Transfer cost of insurance policy to us with the insurance loss file nr as description.
Insurance loss file nr: 44295623

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference with the ingame insurance?
The ingame insurance system is a pre-incident insurance policy, meaning you have to pay the cost in advance for 12 weeks of insurance time. Our insurance policy is a post-incident insurance policy, meaning we payout only after you had a loss. We also are cheaper then the ingame insurance and we also insure your implants, cargo calue and ship modules. The ingame insurance does not!

What are the differences of this insurance vs the ingame insurance?
* The ingame insurance demands a payment upfront for a 12 week insurance after which you have to pay again.
* Our insurance demands a payment after your loss occured. This means you only pay once!
* The cost vs payout ratio of our insurance is much better then the ingame insurance.
* The insurance levels (Basic, Standard, etc) are the same ingame as on our insurance service.
* Our insurance also covers the value of the stuff that was in your cargobay, the ingame insurance does not!
* Our insurance also covers the value of any modules (including faction) that were installed on your ship, the ingame insurance does not!

How can you keep affording this insurance service?
Very simple. I own more then 20 Tech II BPO's. All i have to do is login 1 time per month to start manufacturing jobs of all my prints in Jita and sell the goods that just came off the production line. My prints all run in a 30 day interval. From the sales of all the Tech II goods i get billions and billions per month. I make so much ISK that i simply cannot spent it all on my own. I descided to reserve 900 Billion of my capital to insurance payouts. Clients can only use our service one time (share the wealth under the victims of kamikaze gankers). The insurance costs that our clients pay also help a bit in buffering, but as soon as the 900 Billion is spent, we will evaluate to see if we continue this service. For now you can check via our wallet API how much of the 900 Billion is still available.

How fast untill my insurance payout is processed?
Payouts are normally within 5 minutes when i am online. Send me an ingame mail if it takes more then 5 minutes or so as i do this at work in the background sometimes. I cant be online 24/7, so when i am not online processing your payout will take longer. I will however check my account every day on new insurance claims and process the payouts as soon as i see them. Please convo me if you have any questions!

How can i see if you are legit?
My wallet is EVE API Verified. You can see it by checking the link in my bio. If you dont trust me, feel free to pick a lower level of insurance, for example Basic level. This way you dont take any risk.

SO, what I am wondering is, have any of you ever fallen victim to this scam? Or can you all testify to it being real?

To the guy who sent this all to me, If you see this post, please don't take offense, I'm just trying to be cautious.

Any help would be appreciated. I know this sounds like a fishing attempt.. but damn.. this is more than just fishing... he built the rod, spun the string, forged the hook, and hunted the bait. Lol

Cheers o/

Ehh, not really, i mean 'if its too good to be true..'

But at the same time.. there are so many easier ways to scam. Why would someone go through so much trouble and effort to make the same amount?

A random stranger comes up to you and tells you he'll give you a million dollars next week if you pay him a thousand dollars first. Would you do it? No, of course not because that's ******* ridiculous.

If he has so much ISK, why is he asking you to pay a fee?

If it sounds too good to be true it is. Especially in EVE.

This is so obviously a scam it couldn't be more obvious if the guy flat out told you.
