Or should do. :)

There is no such definition, someone is free to believe in none or all of available (or not) deities.
Faith is a personal matter about ones own spirituality and should not be about just picking a side.
Not starting a discussion about which deity is or is not real is common sense, its called "respecting other peoples faith".
"Standing up for your own religious beliefs" is just a euphimism for religious zealotry, which does not, as you say lead to understanding but to war and hatemongering.

I doubt anyone wants any of that in here.

Pfft, the only god I believe in is Steve Jobs. He's the only god that gave us the iPhone.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

Lol, god is so accurate there. No freedom, you do only as apple allow, no deviation. Android and MS rules! ;-)

*sigh* ... read what I said lol. You may feel free to replace 'definition' with 'by consequence' if it makes it easier for you :)

It would then read as:

It doesnt help, its still a wrong assumption, Im sorry. You dont have to be right all the time, and just because you choose to believe in something and discard the rest, does not mean your assumption is correct. Nothing stops me from believing in Budda, JC, Allah and the Greek Pantheon at the same time if i choose to.

Get it?

I immediately thought of us immortal capsuleers, who can get killed and re-cloned in a hearbeat. Technically we can not know death so does this mean that we can not be brave?

Assets can be replaced, ships and crew are meaningless to us especially if a coalition is underwriting our battles.

So I ask can any of us know bravery?

Is it possible to make a brave move in say... a poker game? A cowardly move in chess?

It seems to me that wherever there is risk and reward, there can be some measure of caution and boldness.

pretty good way of looking at it ... though, brave is not only reward to yourself, it implies doing something for others that others might not want to do.

I'm not sure if I have found any brave people in Eve but I have run across a lot of cowards

Bravery:

: the quality that allows someone to do things that are dangerous or frightening : the quality or state of being brave

I think it is possible, but it is not a quality possessed by those that consider themselves most successful at the game.

Self preservation is not cowardice, it's efficient.

Can we be brave...hmmm

I think it comes down to the decisions we make, will we take risks? will we try something different? will we try for the first time to talk on comms? Shocked

our immortal pilots are guided by mortal hands and so they experience fear through us Blink

So what your asking is, is it possible to be brave when there is no real risk? Should we all attach large defibrillators to ourselves and our computers, tying them to damage so they can kill us off if we get podded? Should we take an oath to delete our character if we lose a fight? For what? Bravery is a relative thing. Watch some rooks and kings clarion call 3.. those guys were out numbered and at one point it seemed out gunned yet they trusted their FC.. and they were right to do so. We watched one member nearly lose his carrier except for the fact that he trusted and used every trick he could think of to stay in the fight. Is that "bravery".. ? Courage? I don't know but it was inspiring to watch what ever it was.
