clearly it's going to appeal to some people and that's fine but calling it wspace is laughable for people who have lived in WHs for any stretch previously and know how they work.

it can be seen very clearly from the corps you listed as active there: they are ALL nullsec entities that, apart from your corp, are well known as being NS entities.

Don't you dare call Thera W-space ! Clearly all its inhabitants are nullsec dwellers (especially VoC §§§), and on the other hand W-space never had any nullsec entities set foot in it, like Goonswarm, Red Alliance, Eve-Uni, Brave Newbies...

That was a collection of bad arguments, to defend an otherwise valid claim; Thera is probably some kind of "hybrid" space (as stated by CCP, the "5th" kind of space). To draw a terrible parralel i would say that Thera is w-space as much as a freighter is a capital ship. Discuss.

umm you are aware that Eve-uni has WH campus and Brave newbies have a Wh wing called Dropbears anynomous right?

The DEVS say its a wormhole system.... Now everyone go stand in the corner.......

=============================================================================================
Thera is a new and unique wormhole system that will be intimately tied to EVE’s developing storyline and will essentially represent a new 5th variant of space in New Eden.

Thera is a gigantic shattered wormhole system that contains four NPC stations and a large number of wormhole connections.

The four stations in Thera will each have a full set of services, including cloning, office slots, and manufacturing. You will be able to set these stations as your medical clone location, and install Jump Clones if you wish.

Thera has multiple static connections highsec, lowsec and nullsec space as well as access to wandering wormholes and K162 connections that can connect it to W-space. The result is a system that is much more connected to K-space than to W-space.

None of the connections to Thera will admit capital ships (freighters will be able to squeeze in), none of the stations in Thera will allow capitals to be built, and there are no moons for starbase anchoring. This means the system will only ever contain sub-capital vessels.

Thera is the largest system we have ever had in EVE. The stations are spread between three different planets at the edges of the system and warps between them can be up to 342 AU. The vast distances and huge number of wormholes ensures that keeping a lockdown on all of the stations and wormholes in the system will be exceedingly difficult, although we expect it to be an extremely dangerous place.

Anchored warp disruption bubbles will not be usable within Thera, although interdictor and heavy interdictor bubbles work normally.

Thera does not have a system bonus effect.

Thera contains wormhole signature and anomaly sites appropriate for class 3 and class 4 wormholes, as well as all the different types of wormhole gas mining sites on par with a class 6 wormhole system.

Thera does have distinct visuals including new unique station skins for the Sisters of EVE, a new nebula and a new sun effect.

If that corner involves standing with 90% of the wormhole community who don't care about Thera then I'll gladly stand there.

You and the Devs can have Thera and play WiS (wormholers in stations) to your heart's content. Blink

On a more serious note, I havent been in Thera and I see no reason to go to There. If I wanted station games and **** like that I would spend more time in k-space

Well if the only argument you have is that "I don't want to associate with those people cuz, ew." then I will gladly stand in the other corner. I don't see anyone coming to harm with this arrangement so I can only affirm this is a great idea. 90% of the wormhole community can stay in their wormholes. The 10% in Thera can go wherever the **** they want, including your wormholes (hi sleeper social club, why'd you close that wormhole so fast?).

Cheers.

I think the mistake here is people feeling that basing out of thera qualifies them as wormholers. There is nothing wrong with enjoying thera and there are a few wormholers that do, but basing out of thera doesn't make you a wormholer. The majority of the thera population is from k-space, not w-space.

I would agree with that however there are also people who live in Thera and never/rarely use the stations, just like there are 'wormholers' who roam j-space and never put up a POS. Or is your definition of a 'wormholer' someone who anchors a POS in a specific wormhole and tries to claim it as their own? If so, then I would say the issue lies in people's differing definitions of the term.

I don't see why there being k-spacers in a system changes the way it's categorized. It's also a bit silly considering all those who live in wormhole systems were once k-space dwellers.

My only mode of transportation in or out of Thera are wormholes. That is why it is a 'wormhole' system. There are no other systems like that besides previously existing wormhole systems. K-space has stargates and wormholes; wormhole systems have no stargates. The lack of moons prevent anchoring POS, but that is the same with the other 100 shattered wormhole systems. Are people going to say that those shattered wormhole systems aren't real j-space and that people who operate in there aren't wormholers?

I admit it's silly to debate an insignificant topic so much, after-all people will label things however they want, but the arguments thus far and the flak I've received since moving to Thera seems to be more strange than this debate.

...you're joking right? There's a whole heap of nullbears living it up in C4 and C5 holes to carebare and do nothing else.

Edit: further posts clarified the sarcasm.

K-space has never been my home. I learned to play eve in a wormhole. I had to actually go back out to do the exploration missions to learn to scan.

I can only assume that my fellow wh residents are hesitant to call thera w-space because the playstyle is very different. It more closely resembles null sec minus local

Take null....

Now...

Ditch local, caps, and POCOs / POS's, and you have Thera.
