New ship - new mechanics - Colossal ship Skadi

So I lost a bet and will post some crazy ideas over the next week.

A colossal station ship, Skadi, that can be jumped into system once SBU´s are on-line to act as front line station for invading forces.
This ship can be assembled both in low and 0.0 space, then boarded like any other ship, jumped 10ly and only once. When it has entered system an on-board computer will start self-destruct sequence. It will need to be anchored within 4 hours of jumping or it will self-destruct. Once anchored it can be used by invading forced like any-other-station. It will have on-line timer that will give the defending forced opportunity to destroy it before it on-lines, and of-course it can be put it into reinforcement once on-line.
And by jumping the Colossal ship, Skadi, into the system you can destroy the station that already is in the system.
And like all things that blow up, you get KM, and anything in the station will either be destroyed or drop. Personal and corp stuff.

Actually a good idea but what about having it capable f warping and gate jumping and multiple jumps, like a mothership, so acts as a mobile station or we could give our current titans this role.

And what was the bet.

the self-destruct is rather lame...after 4 hours of a jump.....you wouldn't make it to some areas in time as if you jump into any part of
your previous owned space the countdown would start.

The 1 jump 10LY rule is also bad because you would have build it at the edge of your space for it to be of any use as most manufacturing happens in guarded areas, would be a movement issue

The fact it is destroyable would be a programming issue, you could log in one day and be where ever your clone was installed and ccp has addressed this issue before as people demand destructible outpost.

The need of an SBU being online would only allow it to be frontline of your sov space, having been in nullsec alliances when we've taken space and secured it and wanted an outpost there, one was dropped

and finally there needs to be 1 for each race as the demand would go, most alliances would probably just keep buying outpost in the end

as for the "where you built it" line, in history most of the heavier siege engines were built close to the front line, because the ffort of moving them afterwards would be too taxing for an army

besides, it would give people a reason toa ctually form and secure "frontlines" rather than all just holing up in a single staging system waiting for titan cynos

The idea / thought behind the ship was - "commitment" - the idea that you are going to war, and you intend to maximise the destruction you inflict. Burnt ground, nothing for the defenders to come back to, and you get the spoils of war.
And you guy´s can either build and change the idea, or flame Smile its totally your choice Blink

The bet, - lets say, I rather suffer week of ridicule on-line for crazy ideas and suggestions than say why I lost Big smile

Surprisingly this idea actually isn't that mad. in terms of making it balanced thought, it would be hellish. Obviously there would need be many ways to send it to its grave. Because let's be honest there needs to be atleast some kind of advantage for defenders when one of thse things is there. If it actually somehow comes into existence by the graces of CCP, it should be permanently destructible, (i.e: shorter timers than an outpost/ no timers in a system you own) to discourage people from constantly using it as a station after they take the system. This way we can keep outposts still viable. Heh they could make it Jove and call it a proto-mothership from the 1st Jove empire or something.

Stuff in targeted station must make successful strength check or be sucked into the ship.
