Launcher in Offline Mode

1) Logged on just after downtime earlier today, but soon gave up after several Sockets being closed.

2) Tried again over last hour but the Launcher is stuck in Offline Mode most of the time. I did manage to connect once
or twice and it let me enter my password but then seems to freeze, and sends error messages mentioning Connection again.
Saw on Forums about manually downloading another Launcher. I did this but the same messages and problems persist.

3) Tried Repair Tool but this also does not work. Again failed to find a connection, and gave me a address to an error log.

4) Tried to open a Support Ticket via the website. First one appeared to work but did not show up on My Tickets list. Second one did not work and an error message popped up saying "try again later."

Think things might be broken.

Update, downloaded manul Launcher from the link in these forums for 5th time and this one sort of works. I can now access Launcher, but after entering login details I get this error message:

There was an error while validating your account. Please try again.

Tried again, this time I logged in and got a "Play" button. And I got in. I guess keep on trying sort of works...I say this expecting a Socket to close any second now.

Actually didn't even get that far. Got to an old-school Eve login screen and then it says I don't have a Connection and stops.

2nd Update. Manged to log on! But Socket Closed within 2 minutes. Back to the beginning again.

Since today i have the "Offline Launcher" too and i can't get rid of it.

No changes whatsoever was made at the computer since the very last time i logged EVE (last night), no windows updates, no new programs installed, nothing. I just turned off my pc before going to bed, turned on this morning and i got the Offline Launcher. I tried to reboot the computer multiples times and i even did a fresh install of EVE but it still doesn't work.

Can someone one help me please? I don't wanna force EVE with the .exe like i read in some other thread...

I just installed the game after re-instating my account. I continually get the offline mode launcher. I tried all of the fixes mentioned in this thread so far but nothing seems to help. Any ideas? Thanks.

CCP really does need to get rid of the damn launcher. It's an insanely crappy browser-based platform that doesn't work as intended (even though I'm sure they'll state otherwise). Having the same issue with the launcher as well.

CCP seriously, just get rid of the damn thing. Nobody is impressed and it does NOT help. It actually was far easier to open individual clients. I think it's quite clear your consumer-base is telling you to ditch the Launcher. It's not a hot "sale" to them.

Repair wont even boot on my end. Keeps giving me an error. Launcher reinstall doesn't work either. Awesomesauce.

If CCP wont address the launcher issues, then they need to at least start allowing for manual updates again.

The issues are very random for me, but I have about the same issues on all three computers - W7 64 bit.

The launcher:
- Sometimes freezing during start, just showing a blank white window, and then after a while goes into offline mode.

- Sometimes starts directly into offline mode

- Sometimes not loading all the elements, but I'm able to log in.

- Once it loaded everything except the boxes where I put in the login and password :)

- Sometimes starts up, but the orange line in the bottom doesn't fill up, so I can't log in (Grey play button). This is very interesting, because sometimes if I wait long enough it sorts itself out, and it has actually "stealth patched" the game without notification. I can tell, since one of the other computers was patching the game properly at the same time.

- Sometimes it actully starts up and works perfectly.

- Sometimes I have to restart it one time, sometimes I have to do it many times before it works.

As I said, very random and unpredictable, I can't see any pattern. But I am sure that this has become a lot more frequent now, since the last month or so. There has always been some random glitches in the launcher, but not at all like this.

I have feelings, I can smile - and murder while!

So on my Lenova y510p running windows 8.1. I have never had the launcher connect. I have always had to resort to the exe file in the bin folder. Well I talked to a GM and he said to try in safe mode etc etc. In safe mode I started looking at what the launcher was trying to do when launched. I found this interesting and thought I would share it.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll179/marcjt/unnamed.jpg

It appears that the Launcher is not dialing the correct IP address and port to connect to EvE servers.

when i use the exe file it connects correctly.

So, Can somone tell me maybe how to redirect the launcher to the correct address?

Something else Im noticing. After Using the Exe file to by pass the launcher (which once again proves its junk and I can connect to the game servers) The ingame browser locks up the game when exiting and runs slower then on my PC.

I deleted the launcher folder, and as an extra precaution flushed my dns resolver cache in case it was a bad path to the servers. So far that seemed to fix it.

I ran into this problem today. However, I was able to get it working.

I have Windows 8.1.

I think the issue had something to do with the fact that I normally run things in a non-administrative Windows login. I don't normally use the administrative login unless I'm updating something.

The launcher normally updates fine while running using the non-administrative Windows login, but today it gave me the offline error.

I first ran the repair tool while using the non-administrative Windows. It showed many out-of-date files with the launcher. It then encountered a problem at the very end, something about a fatal error concerning accessing a database. I did not save the text unfortunately.

Running the repair tool again using the administrative Windows account worked with no errors. It also did the checksums much, much faster.

After that I was able to use the launcher without any issues.

I am the Admin on my laptop and this didnt solve anything, The repair tool doesnt work, just says to go to a temp folder which contains nothing in it.

I have worked around the issues using a VPN but thats not a fix, CCP Needs to fix the launcher before the patch this game anymore this is out of control.

I had this issue for a while after starting the Launcher once without an active Internet connection (been testing out some new network configuration and forgot to switch it back on)
