Presented and ran by TEST Alliance Please Ignore, we invite any and all teams, and indeed any and all teams are welcome, to come scrimmage with us!

Starting up practices can never be too early or too late, and internal practices may not always yield enough people to run full teams. Practicing with other teams not only opens your mind to the possibilities of other comps that you would never normally think of, but also to a whole new skill level and team tactics that you can work to achieve!

But enough with the preamble:

When?
Every Saturday on SISI @ 1800 EVE time (UTC; Handy Time Zone Tool) for about 2 hours. 1800 may be flexible a couple hours up or down, depending on feed back in this thread, but generally this was a good time for everyone last year. We Plan to do this every weekend with or without practice partners

Where?
S-U8A4 VI - Moon 1 - Ishukone Corporation Factory (<------ the seeded station aka bottom station)

This system is about 9 jumps from the moveme pvp system. Arena and warp in beacons are provided by CCP, you can thank them by sending a petition through all your clients :)

Communication Channels
For now, I will be the liaison between the TEST Team and all of you. Please infer all questions or concerns you have to me by EVE Mail **NOT** through SISI, but rather through Tranquility. Alternatively, if you happen to have a TEST spy alt and you wish to burn it you may contact me via TEST Jabber via the same nick.

We require at least a handful of your team (does not need to be everyone) to be in a general chat channel for coordination, a public channel, called: SISI Scrims. Things like "TEST is taking team A beacons" will be said here and such.

Additionally, I will ask the team captain (or someone your team appoints) to x up to be invited to a captains channel for a more private venue.

**NOTE: Captainsplease pay attention to the caps channel. Nobody likes to wait around or go unanswered. Little updates go a long way, TEST typically says things such as "TEST reshipping will be ready in 10 minutes" or TEST vs SSC match over, arena 1 is clear." Be assertive, say things like "TEST looking for a fight" and on the other side be attentive and say "we will face TEST, be ready in 15 minutes" or anything so things are not so stagnant :D**

FC, What Do I Need To Know?
  • Show up with at least 12 people and queue up with us or another team to fight.
  • You and your team are responsible for your own doctrines and building your own ships.
  • We will always use the most up to date point system and for whatever tournaments (NEO, SCL, AT) start date is the earliest.
  • We highly suggest that you build ships in bulk before practice starts, enough for 2 or more consecutive 'welps' without having to rebuild any ships. We cannot stress this enough.
  • Generally be patient. Sometimes you may be waiting at the arena for 10-15 minutes for the other team (or vice versa) if they are switching comps or having trouble with fittings and fitting skills.
  • Typically we run matches with no bans. However, we may discuss bans via the undisclosed captains channel given enough time before a match up.
  • Count down starts in local with something like " TEST vs CCS arena 1 30, 20, 10, 5, 4, 3, etc."
  • You may call a match whenever you want by typing "calling it" in either local or sisi scrims, however local is more visible and readily viewed. After a match is called please respect that and don't continue shooting things :( It really just wastes everyone's time. GF's in local is not considered a stop to a match.
  • After a match, the field can get pretty dirty. Typically the winning team is the one to stay behind and shoot wrecks and drones with some help from any surviving members of the other team.
  • You can hope to see 5-7 matches when both teams have ships built and are quick with switching comps. However, there were a few days where we could only get 2-3 matches done in 2 hours. We would like to avoid that, too.

I hope I was able to cover everything while keeping this relatively short, I know how the EVE community loves tl;dr's :v

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun, as well as a good way to get people back into the mindset of the tournament sooner. I'll talk to our team and see if there's interest. Thank you for taking initiative to organize these opportunities.

For the AT sure, but we hope NEO will arrive in the few months after the new year and to a lesser extent SCL somewhere in there.

And unfortunately its futile to speculate what point changes will occur or even if NEO and SCL happen (rip) so we may as well just use current points for the tournament that we know will come next.

Organising NEO and fanfest in the same time is unlikely. And after fanfest its AT time again. They not even answering those NEO calling out topics.

Confirming that TEST does a great job of running this. Having practice partners from outside alliances was invaluable to our success in AT XII. Please bring the pew.

If you are an individual pilot or small group of pilots interested in this practice, send me an EVE-mail.

We are putting together a casual team to practice against.

HEY!

First off, TY for those people who have come to meet us at 1700 on a saturday!

Secondly, for the holiday we are taking about a 2 week break starting TODAY, I'm not sure exactly when TEST will come back in the new year, but yall are free to use the arena bookmarks for your own needs at any time as always

Look to this post for updates!

P.S. sorry, I forgot contracts run out after a max of 2 weeks so the team today was sorta stiffed on the warp in points so we got a late start : / I'll definitely be keeping up on renewing them in the future until CCP give celestial beacons for us again

Practices begin again this Saturday at 1700!

If you are organizing a full team let AgentHawk know you are coming. He can sort you out.

If you are a small group or a single pilot just show up and we will put you on a team and you can see what it is like. If you have a comp you want to fly then build it in advance and have some substitutions available if the team has less than 12 pilots.

Hope to see you there!

There's pretty much zero chance tactical dessies will be anything less than 5 points in the AT. It may even be a case that they put them on par with cruisers and make them 6

Confirming that last year's Open Practices organized by Test Alliance were very well organized and managed, terrific fun, and REALLY helpful, especially to small teams. I'm thrilled to find out ya'll are doing it again this year!

Affirmative likely will start attending them after Fanfest, as it's just too early for us to start work on the tournament right now (in other words, some of my guys are still burned out from last year's tournament P)

Have you poked Fozzie yet about spawning some arenas for you? I bet if you ask him sweetly, he'll spawn some arena beacons :)

Regarding the NEO, I would not expect a NEO this year.

CCP Gargant was a guest on the EveDownUnder radio show in early January, and he said that they were rethinking the NEO and that it was unlikely to happen this year. This was said live on-the-air so I'm not speaking out of turn, here Lol Of course, things could change, but that is the latest info I'm aware of. Recording of the show is here: http://www.evedownunder.com/downloads/MP3/20150109EveDownUnderShow89.mp3. (Gargant also sang the theme song from Frozen on this particular episode, and wow, he's got a terrific singing voice! That's at https://soundcloud.com/joel-falknau/ccp-gargant-let-it-go )

My guess is the new T3 destroyers to be valued at 5 or 6 points. If they are valued at the same point level as regular T1 destroyers, we'll never see a Thrasher in the arena again.

Many thanks in advance for Test Alliance organizing these super-awesome Open Practices again!

Edit: Added proper link to the radio show episode.

now to the real reason im posting here

we are putting them at 4 points to encourage their use in our comps and hopefully other teams' comps so we get some practice against them, basically

and they are pretty much on par with AF's in terms of tank and dps and speed, its only caveat being its superior fitting room, generally, as well as the use of 3 rig slots unhindered by faction and/or T2 restrictions
