This post is a short version of info from Our Website. Go there for all the details.

Business Guidelines

#1. The corp exists to enable pilots to do what they want, when they want.
#2. Working together enables pilots to do more of the things they want.
#3. No pilot will be forced to do anything. We may strongly encourage certain things, though.
#4. No levity allowed. This is business, not a game. We are serious about this.
#5. See #4. Seriously.
_______________

-No SP requirement.
-Trial accounts accepted with restrictions.
-Highsec, Lowsec, and NPC nullsec.
-Blueprint copies for industrialists.
-T1 Ship hangar for new players.
-Mumble Server
_______________

Nothing is ever mandatory. Members are, however, strongly encouraged to help and be active in the corp. The corp is designed to give the most benefits to those who put the most in, without penalizing people that want to do their own thing. If you don't want to participate, and just use our corp as a low-tax shelter with a chat channel, that's fine. We won't stop you. But you'll be missing out on most of what we offer.
_______________

Your Way or the... wait. That's not right.
It's well known that a good EVE corp is run as a dictatorship. This is often true; corps without strong leadership die quickly. That doesn't need to apply to managing the day to day operations of its pilots though. We have a clear development plan in place to steer the corp without taking away the freedom of individual players. See the link for details.

recruit (v.)
1630s, "to strengthen, reinforce," from French recruter (17c.), from recrute "a levy, a recruit" (see recruit (n.)). Sense of "to enlist new soldiers" is attested from 1650s; of student athletes, from 1913. Related: Recruited; recruiting.

So, here's my (very serious) take on things, from the perspective of a member whose account was less than two weeks old when the corp was founded.

I spend a lot of time meta-gaming, so you can imagine what EVE did to my brain upon first getting into it. Among the many things I eagerly dove into researching was how to get involved in the game, especially in regards to what spaceguild appealed to me the most. I knew that, while being very interested in PvP, that wasn't to be the entirety of my experience. I was interested in those corps offering a variety of experiences.

However, I'm also a contrarian by nature, and while I enjoy cooperating in a group and learning from those with experience (just ask Ines how much time I spend quizzing him on meta), I also like figuring things out myself and going at my own deliberate pace. I like autonomy, and I don't like a heavy burden of membership requirements.

Having lead several (non-space) guilds in other games, I know how burdensome trying to organize a collective of pixel drivers can be, so I appreciate it when the leadership is more focused on the fun of the game, and expect the only result to be some laughs, some explosions, and some noobs learning the game a little better, while bittervets do whatever it is they do with their spacetime. (Something something Sleepers, something something afk in Jita.) I wanted a corp where I could make my own rules (within the least modicum of reason possible).

I looked at a number of corps/alliances, including ones you've certainly heard of before. You won't hear me saying a bad thing about any of them. (In this post, at least!) They all looked interesting, in their own ways. But in the end, I want to be part of something, and feel foundationally involved and important. I like coordinated, well-thought out small groups over hordes of force. I like casual but involved players over killboard or carebear-obssessed.

I joined this corp via Zavovski, who was one of several people to drop in on my Twitch stream and watch me stumble around space. He was helpful and came around often enough that he became a sort of embodiment of the really amazing side of the EVE community to me (nohomo). All the while, I was still thinking: which seat can I take?

I chose this corp because I love this concept: where can we take a group of pure voluntaryists while never losing sight of the original vision of freedom? We think we can take it to a potent, capable, self-sufficient group that cooperates and builds something together, because that's what they want to do. As IRL goes on, I find my free time exponentially decreasing, so I want to make the maximum fun out of my time in a game, and I say the way to do that is to choose your own adventure, but with the help of people who want to do stuff with me, but only if it interests them. And if it doesn't, then I can choose to keep doing it, or join in on whatever they want to do.

I'm not saying no other corp offers something you want, because I'm sure many have great features to offer. I'm not going to pretend to be some know-it-all bittervet, I just know I've found something I really like.

Frankly, this isn't the corp for you if you want to be part of the biggest forces, or the most potent PvP fleets, or the largest mining ventures. This is a corp that's focused on building and maintaining freedom above all else. How big will we get? What will we do in the future? Why not come along and help us figure that out? Because we're here to let everyone contribute and grow, and that, my friend, is very Serious Business. Join today, or you'll never learn the mysterious secrets of this beautiful visage.

So.... is it a good thing or a bad thing that our communications officer is so long winded?

(at least he's good at the job)

Etymology

From Early Modern English bump (“a shock, blow from a collision", also "to make a heavy, hollow sound, boom”), probably of North Germanic origin. Compare Danish bump (“a thump”), Danish bumpe (“to thump”), Old Danish bumpe (“to strike with a clenched fist”). Apparently related to Middle English bumben, bummen (“to make a hollow noise”), Dutch bommen (“to hum, buzz”), German bummen (“to hum, buzz”), Icelandic bumba (“drum”), probably of imitative origin. More at bum, bumble. Compare also bomb.
