Ganked a venture with a gank fit venture. Pretty sure this counts as two venture kills!

It's just good wildlife conservation, like having to wait for Deer Season to shoot Deer... you have to maintain the population at healthy levels to ensure a good harvest for years to come.

I expect the vast, vast majority of kills in this contest to occur in 0.5 and 0.6 systems, because there's more miners there.

If we do accidentally pop the odd legit newbie (and let's face it, accidents happen), we'll be sure to give them information that will help them more than the loss will have hurt them.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

I operate in such a system and it's full of non newbie miners.

Managed to eliminate 4 of the little yellow Code breakers since the contest started but I really need to step it up.

I am sure some of the really heavy hitters have already liberated a dozen venture pilots.

Have we had any luck getting people we gank in this contest to kill it forward themselves?

So far my favorite kill has been {Link Removed Due to Reasons but I am sure interested people can find what I am talking about} this one transporting a PLEX. I know one got caught last contest near the start, makes me start to wonder...

This whole contest is a pretty telling example of the players CODE targets - helpless and pathetic new players. Lame. -1,000,000.

If by that you mean "supremely dedicated in their task of defeating bot aspirancy". The Venture is, after all, the single most botted ship in the game.

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Would that reflect it's status as oh, I don't know, the single most used ship in the game? Furthermore, if botting is suspected the proper course is to file a petition, not go around randomly blowing up ventures.

If filing petitions worked, they wouldn't have to blow them up so much.

Action was needed, and one man stood up to say "no more!". The great leader, James 315, and his disciples continue to work to see a brighter future for highsec.

In the event that I accidentally kill a new player in this contest (and let's face it, mistakes happen), I will give them a couple of gank-fitted ships they can fly.

Hopefully they'll discover something new in EVE, and most importantly, they discover that they have enough SP to get solo kills already if they choose their targets well. Worst case scenario, they sell it and buy another Venture.

I agree, this isn't about harassing the new players at all. We want to explain EVE to that section of players and help them understand the game better, no matter what direction they decide on. We're just to help provide a nice and simple outlet for players who are new to this game and might decide to play in their own way. Hence for this contest! The benefits for everyone!

I mean as stated previously, some of these losses I have been seeing are not new players at all. And I don't just mean SP wise. Those are the ones I hope get saved some day.

I can't remember if I stated this in game or here so saying it again.

Yes, killing a venture with another venture does count as two.

However, venture kills have to be unique, meaning this is a one time bonus.

Yet a bonus.

I recommend rocket Kestrels, or for the 100% kill even in a 1.0 use a cheapfit destroyer with blasters or rockets.

You can use Atrons in .8 or lower, I've found.

In fact, there should be a subcategory prize for cheapest gank boat.

And most expensive gankboat, and silliest gankboat....:)

I remember last time I stuffed as many smartbombs as I could on a Catalyst and tried to pop a group of those banana boats with it......IIRC it worked pretty good......:)
