Gila in 5/10 Escalation?

Using that I am able to do 4/10 with no issues, however I tonight got a 5/10 escalation and after looking up the site it appears the second room does about 1700 dps. I am just not sure that I can handle this with the current fit. I plan on changing my tank to be Guristas specific to run it, but should I turn my ship into a full passive shield tank with SPR's and such? I currently Omni tank because I follow the escalations. Tonight I went from caldari to amarr to gallente and back to caldari space just following escalations then working back towards jita till I got another escalation.

I still have 23 hours 30 minutes left to run it, but its after 3 am now so going to bed first. That gives me time to ask for fitting advice at least.

I was able to do DED5 sansha with my gila. I had DC II in low and thermic hardener. BS in second room may be a problem, their range with cruisers missiles. If there are no scrammers try it. Gila is a monster.

should try active tanking with an afterburner

much smaller sig so u can mitigate a lot damage with speed.

With your setup you almost have battleship sig and no prop mod meaning you will take almost the full 1700 dps.

how about that instead... I put on the flare because I tried to fit heavy missile launcher 2's but I was short to fit it. Target painter to help gain aggro so all the frigates dont eat on my drones. All running my skills lasts 5:48, should be plenty with pulsing the booster I would think. It also drops my sig radius to 145m with a 646m/s speed I should speed tank quite a bit of it. I copied my old Tengu fitting and adapted it to hopefully work.

Depending on how it goes I might further tweak it... definately change rigs around but going to see how the 5/10 goes with this set up.
Going to have to run pyfa later and see how I can make HML2's fit. maybe instead of x type c type or some such.

Seems like a lot of cash to put on the line for a 5/10, being that it is a Gila and all. Way too much bling. Even worse, with all of that bling, it doesnt do any extra DPS, it isnt any faster, and it has 17k EHP, compared to your first build that had 58K EHP. And your shield regen is 308 on the passive, compared with 162 on the active. I dont see any possible reason to want the active over the passive in this case. Sure, the active has a smaller sig, but the difference in EHP and regen is pretty huge, for no gains in DPS.

Active with no bling works pretty well. The sig tank+speed tank work real well.

One thing I would suggest is use rapid light missile launchers if you are worried about warp disruptor rats.

it's not about the gains in DPS, though I agree the bling on that fit is unnecessary.

I think the main issue is that the active fit is using a small shield booster. The shield regen on it is not impressive at all. Having 1/3 of the EHP, and half of the shield regen is not likely to make up for the sig difference. The one Tsukino posted up has over double the EHP, and 2.5 times more shield regen.

Edit: Rebuilt Tsukino's in EFT, and it seems that she was not having it against uniform damage, which is what I was comparing it with. Still, uniform damage shows an increase over the OP's active fit of around 90 shield regen, and 10k EHP, while still keeping a pretty small sig.

thank you, I will try it... the bling is actually not that blingy to me lol... it is normal everyday stuff I get from exploration, I have a char in null and a high sec exploring char thats in an NPC corp (NA is always at war so hard to get into jita to sell sometimes, plus sometimes you just want to use small ships... I use a rattle in null, gila in high)

If you have a Rattler, then odds are good that you have decent missile skills. Why dont you do this in a Tengu?

I could, but I hate hams.... I used one in null for about 3 hours, went through 7k missiles in one site... I went to HML2 used over 5k missiles on one site. I just dont like the tengu for sites anymore. I used to love it in normal missions blitzing them, but doing anom's its just not worth it to me. The other thing, this is for my high sec toon, not my null toon. The tengu could not enter 4/10 or 3/10 which is the majority of high sec.

The other reason is my high sec toon cannot use a tengu. He has caldari cruiser 5, but does not have all the subsystems trained and such.

1700 if everything will hit you with max damage. and that's before kinetc/thermal hardeners. add to that that battleships won't do that much damage with rails and cruisers/battlecruisers will only hit you only with missiles if you're gonna sit at a distance.

just orbit everything and take down advanced frigs first. you should be fine

Use this fit for plexes. Bs cannot hit you, if you keep going full speed. Kill webbing frigs first. Don't use deadspace mods in 0.0, keep the cost minimum.

I suggest you try the plex first - and those commenting, too. Most damage in there can be mitigated with an afterburner and taking down what actually hits you first (frigs/dessies/cruisers).

Biggest 'threat' in 5/10 is when you warp into last room and are basically immobile because triple webbed by towers. Take those down (2 are >50 km away) and start moving again and it gets manegeable. I also think active tank is better, since in Gurista there are no neuts in those plexes. Passive fits eat up so much slots...

IMO Sentries much better still (yeah Ishtar). When you have to kill the BS that orbit you at 50 your drones will have to travel a lot.

I agree with Mnemosyne Gloob.

The first 2 rooms are actually pretty easy, as long as you keep moving. But the NPCs in the 3rd room will hit pretty hard, because you are getting webbed the moment you enter.

I just kill the commander, bookmark the wreck and warp out, so i don't care about the stasis towers. But you have to have enough buffer to tank the damage till the commander is dead. The Gila i fly has 66k EHP and 500 ehp/s against guristas.
