I thought about something and maybe it could work, maybe not. in any case, it can solve a problem for ishtar and carrier and dominix while affecting the rest of drone bays but not that much.

I though about sizes for drones, well we have them for modules so drones could have that as well:


Fighter and FB are capital size and works on Carrier and SuperCarrier only
Heavy, sentry are Large size drones so only works on BS size drone bay
Medium drone are medium sized and works on cruiser and BC hulls only
light for frigates and destroyers.

In any case, its not a question of bandwith anymore but a question of the right size. You can't get lower and can't get higher in size. so if you have an ishtar, well medium drone it is for you. (Worst to worst, just get medium sentries for them with nerfed DPS and Range so its not overpowered when taking skills in consideration)
dominixs will be with sentries and heavies but not medium or light drone.

Sentry carrier with this has been effectivly killed, so they are with fighter only (FB and Fighter for Supers)

Any thoughts about the implication of a mecanic like this one in the game ?

(goal of disscussion is to get this way and reactions to CCP's attention so they look at a possible solution to maybe please the most people possible)

maybe a common idea, but the variation is justified to look at other way of the same idea

Makes drones pretty much useless really.

No more lights/ECM drones in battleships to deal with tackle? No more drones in carriers to deal with, well, anything really? Any cruiser droneboat besides the Gila rendered worthless?

What a wonderful idea.
