Fury cruises for missions?

Hey folks,

are any of you using fury cruises on your missile mission battleships?

I’d be thankful for some insight on your experiences? Do you hate or love them and why?

Thanks!

Good, but limited to BS targets and some BC targets. Ensure you have full rigor rigs and painter(s) to maximize effective dmg.
A big issue is the 10sec reload. Think carefully where/when to swap to normal missiles, minimize the need to swap.

P.S. Missiles vs Angel NPCs (fast, low sig rad) = not very ideal

As above: use furies for large targets, they do work for cruisers if you really need to, but you will be wasting ammo. I fly CNR, which has bonys to explosion radius, with TP to blow out target signature radius. I also carry regular T1 cruise, and a small selection of faction misfiled. No sense spending more on ammo than the target is worth :D

To be honest I am really lazy and just fit Caldari Navy Scourge and Inferno to my Rattlesnake and never bother with T2 missiles even though it has T2 launchers fitted.

I tend to use fury for BS, BC (2 volleys), and destroyers (1 volley), and regular for cruisers. Drones chew on the rest.

I'm too lazy to use a target painter.

Thanks folks! Interesting feedback.

Fiddled a bit with eft to adapt my fit (more painters, small change in rigs) and now I’m going to test it in practice. Paper DPS is most impressive. Hope I can apply it too!

I use to use Caldari missiles, until I switched to Fury, quite a while ago. I will stay with the Furies.

On the Golem, which I have T2 rigors, depending on the mission, I usually use a webber and a TP.
I get 1003dps, 8228 volley with the Furies.
I get 823dps, 6756 volley with Caldari
I get 716dps, 5876 volley with T1

You can see the huge increase in damage, the rigs and the TP help apply it. I could use 2 TPs, but meh.

On a Raven, with 2 T1 rigors and a flare, since it got that 7th slot, I may use a webber or a TP.
I get 1003dps, 6174 volley with the Furies.

(I really don't use drones anymore, unless I absolutely have to. By the time I pop them out, get them on target, then have them destroy the target, I can dispose of a pesky small frigate with missiles. Yeah, I know, it costs more, but I don't worry about the pocket change.)

If you're using T1 rigs, just use rigors. A T1 rigor is always better than a T1 flare. The only reason to use a flare is if you're hitting the calibration cap by using T2.

Yup, that's why I use Furies on a Raven too.

I think I said I get 1003 dps, 6173 volley with Furies on a Raven.

The other examples for the Golem, using Caldari missiles, and T1 missiles, were only for examples for comparisons. I only use Furies.

Edit: I over thought it, you were talking about the T1 rigs, not the T1 missiles. My mistake. Oops

Thanks again for the feedback.

Have tried it now and regret the time I wasted not using them.

Fury is the ONLY way to mission. You fit correctly and you one shot every cruiser out there. Anything bigger is smashed. Frigates, use drones.

Just have to be mindful of some ships that can get enough speed for the velocity difference to exceed the excess from the sig difference, but otherwise they work great. I think Angels are the only faction that ever managed to do that when I was testing them.

I'm still old school in flying my Golem though and the cruise doesn't interest me, Torps are the only thing for my Golem. Still Fury with solid skills and the right rigs are strong enough to be worth using all the time, especially in a Navy Raven.

I do. Full Furies, no faction or precision missiles here. I use a 2x Rigor II, 2x TP setup Golem with nearly maxed support skills. Most Cruisers and BCs are one shot, elites usually are 3 shot. I use drones for frigs except for the elites (buggers can tear up drones fairly easily).

Precision cruises would be better on the elite frigs, I know, but I'm a lazy sod and would rather throw out a couple of extra volleys then to load up the precisions to only need to put the furies back in a few moments later.

Fury missiles are great, with target painters you will be blowing up medium targets with 1 or 2 volleys, even better if you fit 2.

They can work fine through all the mission, you will only need drones for elites and other drone size targets, if you are not lazy and combine them with T1s or precision cruises you will be more efficient.
