An EVE secret revealed

I posted this on another forum about EVE.

My EVE experience was forged in a week and I didn't even know it at the time.

The very first week of EVE back in '05, I was in an .8 sec system shooting npc's in a belt and an 80K NPC showed up. My decision of fight or flight came down to fight and I killed a Shadow Serpentis Pirate, looting a Daredevil BPC. That I then turned around and immediately built.

I flew all over New Eden in that Daredevil. People chased me, shot at me, tried thier hardest and 6 years later, that Daredevil is still in my ship hangar. It defined EVE for me. Dardevil online. I lost a copy of just about every ship I can fly in EVE but I never lost that Daredevil. If you want to make it in EVE, you need to be a Daredevil. Make stupid decisions with planning, great bravery and intent, pray like the wind you don't get caught in a dirty gust and see what your ass looks like coming out on the other side.

I thought about Aura saying "Dare to be bold pilot" and "Be bold like a Daredevil" seemed fit as well. The Evel Knievel's Of EVE.

i had a similar experience when i was a noob in 2007. was ratting in my little merlin, dreaming of being able to fly a tech II frigate like the harpy or hawk, then all of a sudden, i get a worm BPC drop. built that little ****** and never lost it. ended up selling it though. :x

I've got a cynabal sitting in hanger from a similar story...went to low sec as a 2 week old FNG, with the trademarked noob caracal. managed to shoot down the faction rats, and as i looted the wreck i remember being more excited about the ammo (i'll do ALOT of damage now!!!) i took the stuff back to high sec, and used my little osprey to mine all the minerals i could to build it. (it sells on contracts for 80m! i'll be RICH!) built it, but never did sell it. been everywhere from cosmos missions out to null in that cynabal, gate camps, you name it.

I've since sold my original character, but i couldnt get rid of that cynabal.

I'de love to know WHICH one of the dozens of rookie ships I've got scattered around the universe is my original rookie ship, it's gotta be one of the bunch, never lost it.

all ships should have an 'assembly date' or something when you get info on them. that'd be cool. could show up on killmails to let you know how long the ship had been used.

I like that. I'd add - I'd love a builders' stamp on it as well. E.g. Built by Shun Industries YC 113.

I still own a purifier from early 2010. I've even pvped with it. It's escaped combat in many situations.
