Solo suicide ganking hs haulers

Hello fellow C&P friends

I would like to graciously ask those who are willing to share for some tips, tricks and tactics involving the above title. I would like to get your advice on the following:

Optimal trade route pipes
Optimal ships and alt nr's to get the job done (i don't have multiple screens )
Optimal tactics before and after prey explodes.
And if its worth going after t2 haulers

I've done some net research on the matter and i have the basics down , i'd just want to do it properly and preferably for profit.

I also apologize if a similar thread already exists.

So far i only had 2 attempts , first one was super succesfull and only took a cormorant to pop an autopiloting itty5 that droped 400 mil in loot. Second attempt i alphad a sigil who was also autopiloting but for some reason my nado only did shield and half armor damage :( sadface.

Any help on the matter would be greatly apreciated.

Just because i am blond does not make me stoopid !

Optimal trade route pipes
Not sure one is optimal over another as the traffic varies drastically for a multitude of reason, obviously Jita should be involved in the route.

Optimal ships and alt nr's to get the job done (i don't have multiple screens ) -
3 Accounts- Ganker, Scanner, Scooper (Can be done with two, scanner and scooper are different toons on the same account)
Catalyst for AP untanked
Vexor/Thorax/Moa for AP poor tanked or non-ap poor tanked
Brutix for poor-fair tanked and/or stabbed
Tornado for .7+ systems

Optimal tactics before and after prey explodes.
Too much for one post, mail sent

And if its worth going after t2 haulers
BR Roulette (you can't cargo scan a BR) is certainly a thing but very hit or miss. DSTs can be worth it but requires friends and a very foolish hauler.

My comrade Mr. Loyd covered this fabulously, but I want to add a few additional items:

Anywhere with lots of haulers will work, but chokepoints are ideal. The Madirmilire/Niarja/Kaaputenen section of the pipe from Amarr to Jita is a prime example.

For solo work, DSTs usually aren't worth it. They're tough nuts to crack. If you are particularly enterprising though, you can solo freighters using multiple gank ships dropped by an Orca, but this would requires a high degree of practice and some luck. You could likely do the same with DSTs, but you can't really bump them like you can freighters unless the pilot is asleep at the wheel and their fit is truly horribad.

Probably not a good idea right now; according to reddit rumour has it the guy that took out the bowhead in this fashion is taking may have taken an involuntary holiday, pending investigation and ruling, courtesy of CCP.

There's a locked topic in GD if you want to know more.

The KB seems to disagree https://zkillboard.com/character/878768739/

Although he does have a week off in there.

May have just been a temporary suspension pending investigation then, I would love to see the ruling on that one Pirate

The normal route between Dixie and Jita is pretty good for untanked T1 haulers.

If only we could discuss warnings and bans. But if we could, it might expose that the GM staff entirely ignores the actual rules of the game, and just makes things up as they go along.

That said, I would love confirmation that he was in fact unbanned. It would bring me great delight to post such a thing for the smug carebears on reddit.

Heck I would just love confirmation that he was actually banned for hyperganking so we don't have to figure out if something is an exploit based on hearsay.

So does that mean he got off scot free or received a temp ban for a first time offence?

Discussion of bans, yeah, yeah, I know. :(

Both questions you ask, seem to conclude he did wrong in the first place. Could it be he was simply suspended while it was looked at and he was deemed to have done nothing wrong at all?

Shocking I know, but bias be damned. Roll

The first outcome suggests there's nothing wrong with hyperganking, the latter suggests there is. I guess it's one of those things you need to create a support ticket to be sure.

Getting back on topic, trying to pop any of the t1 combat haulers (Sigil, Nereus, Badger, and Wreathe) is always tricky as they can fit a very good passive tank. Best to go after Bestowers, Mammoths, Itty 5's and Tayra's.

They are almost always stuffed with cargo expanders (rigs and modules) which lowers their tank, and will (hopefully) be stuffed with the shiny, shiny loots.

As always, however, YMMV.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

And as for places to set up your ambushes, you can use Dotlan or EveEye Maps to see where the highest traffic routes are for whatever region you live in.

But in fact, I made a Google spreadsheet a while back to find the most trafficked systems by security status using the API data:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mRoBRvS0UpVegAxiQBjRMZ4RJ1tZztLme-Hz6vvYBhg/edit?usp=sharing

If you make a copy of it you can change the range of systems you want to look at (right now it is set to 0.5-0.7), but I think staying in that range is the best place to start out ganking.

Getting off scot free means getting away with not paying taxes. It's used to denote doing wrong and getting away with it.

Like I said, you basically concluded he did wrong and either got away with it, or had a temp ban. I merely suggest he may have been suspended and found to have done nothing wrong at all. So no it doesn't suggest anything, as we do not know anything.

Yes one could write a ticket, but as shown above they tend to be ignored. In the meantime, people have lives and like to have fun playing the game.

Optimal trade route pipes:

Like said above unless you can get good intel on something better such as mass alliance move and their jump points out of highsec. It's all about intel but most find a spot where they like.

Optimal ships and alt nr's to get the job done (i don't have multiple screens ):

I do it on 1 Screen and 2 accounts but you have to be sharp.

Optimal tactics before and after prey explodes:

Be ready, be aligned ready for scoop and warp in with the damage boat.
Have the char name added to contacts so you can see when he enters system.

After the prey explodes before Eve changed was quite straight forward, warp to wreck and loot.
I haven't ganked much since the changes to being flagged.
How are you guys dealing with the changes to aggression, finding quieter routes? Its sad face when someone blows up your Hauler.

And if its worth going after t2 haulers:

If Solo stick to T1.

I'm actually looking to get back into Eve so if there are any ganking corps around please pm me/mail me in game. Would be cool to share hints and tips and share killmails :)
