So in America, where everyone is free, and enjoys unhindered joy and happiness, there is a new law on the books.

This law is called "SOPA" or Stop Online Piracy Act, its essentially a good thing, cause pirates are bad, ARRGH!!

It does have a nasty side effect of allowing for financially disconnecting American users from "violators" under this new law if CCP were ACCUSED, of violating an American intellectual right, such as Pepsi vs Quafe; Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, and a dozen other financial entities would have to immediately sever business with CCP or face severe penalties should the violation be upheld in American courts.

Clearly I would expect CCP to emerge victorious, but I am not sure if those financial companies would accept the risks of doing business with CCP while the violation was assessed by the Americans.

It gets even better though, should my ISP feel uncomfortable about me accessing a website accused of copyright violations they could block me from playing EVE, just in the off-chance they could be found liable for allowing violations to occur.

Unless CCP started some sort of international ISP my second concern couldn't be resolved but my primary issue could be resolved with a simple phone call to the companies that help us pay for our PLEX:: "Are you guys going to stand with us if the Americans go bonkers?"

1) SOPA isn't "on the books"... it's struggling HARD to get thru both houses of Congress (ProtectIP in Senate) BEFORE the sitting President signs it (or whatever "it" will become in the final bill) into law.
2) Chance of SOPA becoming law is slim to none, thanks to some lawmakers who actually READ what idiots are trying to put into law.
