"Missing features" is subjective.
Not really. Compare this to any standard forum software. Look at what this one doesn't have. There you go.

I mean, ffs, it doesn't even support images. The forum doesn't even have to do anything to support images. Yet somehow it doesn't.

Images is a feature and really, forums are about what you write yeah? And "standard". Who defines a standard? Unless "standard" is now a metaphor for "same"?

As an aside, any coder will tell you that HTML is an after the fact delivery. Gank issues etc. are not a HTML or CSS problem. Let's face it, even the gank page is HTML - served hot with chilled CSS as a side dish.

I was reading this thread and thinking about how I never have issues with the forums. Then I clicked on page 2 and got ganked.

Yes images is a feature. The de facto standard is defined by pretty much every other piece of forum software out there.

not empty quotin

and suri, nobody said the ganks were a result of bad code, I'd say it was more of a secure sockets issue than anything relating to the physical page code.

but ganks are just another bit on the rubbish heap composed of gimpy code

And yep. CSS is spec - now. Pity some of the major browser people didn't spot the efficacy of a CSS standards in the early days.

Just go ahead and say it: Microsoft.

Dang. You had to go and say THAT word. Now I gone and got all sweaty and sufferin' anxiety attacks all over again. Off to see my shrink before I contact my client to explain wtf happened. What?

And Morgs. Oh yeah baby. Used to be tough enough with just Netscape and THAT company. Then FF came in and some other random browsers and turned me into a quivering vegetable. Had to buy a new HD just to run all the damn browsers to check CSS padding!

though it pains me to say it, I'm actually having more troubles with firefox being too liberal in it's interpretations of gimpy code,
explorer actually shows you that you screwed up, firefox tends to hide it now so you think everything is A-OK, that is until you validate or run it in explorer.

I consider all browsers to be the devil

Yeah quirks-mode in all browsers is a 2 edged sword for sure. FF has a Mac-like tendency to "help you" even more then others when it is not wanted. IE's lack of CSS 2 & 3 features and fast and loose interpretation of ECMAScript are my biggest complaints. I only load IE now to test final work, and then only inside a VM

Once I started doing just about everything in Chrome making use of its developers tools I cut my x-browser debug time by at least half.

There's a million angry citizens looking down their tubes..at me.

Hey, I agree. What I was trying to establish is the difference between "faulty" and "featureless".

Although, in my experience, people flock to what's different these days. And for mine, a forum NOT full of everybody's pet dog photos and 1/2 page of sig bullshit is a GOOD thing.

So there ya go Blink

LOL! Then I thought, that is what this is all about and zero. zero, none, null, nada nucka dev response on this, while it is quite annoying and hitting probably all of us.

Not that I expect a response near Christmas but some response, any even would be nice?
