And it's soooo boring! I was so happy to log back into Eve. I've tried to enjoy it but it's feels like a kids game.

1. Looks cartoony and so low res. The design is blah.
2. Space combat? It's on rails.
3. Clicking 1,1,1,2,1,3,1 isnt really game play.
4. It plays like a low res rpg.
5. It's an amusement park mmo.
6. It's a complete copy of wow, which in itself is so outdated.
7. No depth
8. Has the illusion of choice which really isn't choice.
9. PvP?
10. No real death penalty

I could go on.

It has a few good features, but then so do most games, doesnt mean they are worth playing. It's crazy that over 100 mill went into the development and that was the result.

It's really made me love Eve more.

I just wanted to point out that this is not your typical 'wow clone' comment. Many entire skill groups and combos are, without exaggerating, directly taken out of WoW. Straight carbon copies.

^

Did you not read any honest previews? Or the boards? Or go to the website?

Because all of those were stated facts before it's release...Also the beta.

Just because it has the words "star" and "wars" doesn't mean you should buy it. I dont mean to be a complete ****, but the facts were out there.

Say what you want, SWTOR is an awesome game. And it works. I am so very very tired of all the breakage that accompanies each patch in EvE. It is still happening, and in my stupid and humble opinion, it will never change. EvE will never have professional level programmers that actually meet industry standards for quality control.

And creativity? Sorry, but if the best they come up with is to whack PI thiniking it will lead to hi sec players migrating into lo sec, they have cranium inserted into rectum. Me and a bunch of others who were already farming planets in lo sec are now simply disengaged from PI. It is said there are "friendly corps" who set taxes low and allow harvesters like me to access their POCOs. Yeah? Not in the systems I run in. And not anywhere close by. Oh, but the new T3 BattleCruisers are really cool because they have alpha but require massive repper support... I'll eat my words if anyone is really using them effectively because since they deliver high DPS and are relatively easy to whack, they are a reasonable choice to take out first ... Buh bye T3 BC's...

So, CCP can continue their blind travels whilst they alienate even more players by catering to mega-corps and griefers.

I'll keep mining (when I'm drinking barley wine) and doing L4's, Incursons, and exploration when sober. But I think light sabres have a place in my future...

It's really OK to fail at a computer game. If you can't succeed because finding the fun means to deal with the game's adversities is hard, then quitting and finding something that is better suited to your entertainment requirements is the logical thing to do. Sounds like you find running around wearing tights and wielding a glowing saber more fun than EVE's PvE. I'm not sure that I disagree, though this doesn't mean that I'd consider getting involved in either.

SWTOR is a WoW 2.0.

It is simply a better WoW, with a story tied to your class, with choices in the quests and it makes for a better game than WoW.

It depends on your perspective, of course. But I wish that Bioware had played it less safe and minimized the amount of the crap that seems like a must-have in this industry (even EVE has them). The go here, kill that or fetch this-type of quests because that is what kills the game for me.

I find PvP almost relaxing, no risk vs. reward though and sadly a grind, but it is not a game I would play by myself. It is a game I would get a few buddies together to play.

But in all honesty, I am with the OP here - I am quickly getting TORED with the game.

It's an ok game that's a little deeper than say "Peggle".

There is so much in swtor that makes me say I've done this crap before. Yes it's pve is better then Eve's pve, but I don't play eve to run missions, it's usually the last thing I do if I'm bored.

The Old Republic is so different than Eve. First off its all PVE, its very linear. Your experience is the same as everyone else's to some degree. You have specific classes you can be. Thinking back at some of the things I've been in Eve - Pirate, mission runner, mining security, trader, builder, space trucker, soldier . . . and everything I have yet to try . . . its so much deeper than just being a jedi or a bounty hunter.

Star Wars is currently a children's property making content for boys, which also means the Old Republic has a lot younger player than Eve.

Its a totally different game.

Of a group of friends in preorder time that have been grinding for the past days, 2 already are wondering what the hell are they playing.

I will give it some time, after the RISK fiasco of me leveling to 50 in 2 weeks after release and seeing it was a polished fantasy WOW clone with better graphics I decided I would never ever buy a CE or PreOrder MMO ever ... though that was the same thing I said when I bought the CE of Vanguard, the Tabula Rasa preorder, EQ2 with real coins edition and many other mmo's over the years that have made me wonder why did I leave my raiding guild in EQ1 when they were about to break into Vex Thal and my necro was pimped to hell off Ssra and other Luclin mobs.

I think that no matter the game, not much out there will make me feel the same way, and I sometimes cry for the people that will praise SWTOR as the best MMO and WoW will be to them like Meridian 59 was to me when I played EQ1. I'm just jaded.

Anyway, I present to you BRO TEAM PILL reviews SWTOR , also check out their other reviews, if you do, Ill give ayou a cookie Big smile

I have been playing it more and well.

I want to be fair. STO was absolute crap when it launched and it took 6 months for it to shine.

However, There are already times when it feels like a chore. Especially with the side quests. The cover system is cumbersome in its current form so I have switched to tank classes.

I will play the month I have and go back to others for 3 months and give them a fair chance to fix things. However, it is so dependent on its storyline missions that without constant new things to do I bet it will get stale very very quickly.

I wanted to love SW: tOR.

I really did: I still daydream of parking an X-Wing fighter in my drive at damn near age 40.

But then I did the mass tests, and was quickly shown why I've been spoilt by EVE, and why this is a good thing.

Sorry, BioWare, but un-inspired WoW-clone is un-inspired, and unlike EVE-O, totally un-inspiring as a result.

I can just go play WoW, after all...Roll

I just want to brag that I know this guy:

His lightsaber models are amazing. Also, his baby girl's sonogram picture is used on a console in the game.

Other than the Expected WoW clone-edness the price was horrendous for a completely underwhelming game.....still cant believe I payed $60 USD for this pile of crap......well I guess their plan is probably working as intended.
