Sometimes I wonder how many of the bad mouthing bitches on this forum would have the balls to say all the **** they say to me here, IRL.

Bunch of pathetic losers...

I'd say it to you IRL, then give you a manhug, and hand you a beer.

Its kind of humourous how worked up you can get (even though your trolling) about a video game, which has a huge following, about NOT wanting to attend a convention based on said video game, so you can sit in Norway by the sea, and drink your own ****. Besides.. where else can you get wasted and hand a Dev his ass in Cruiser 1v1's?

Also- I'm going to go ahead and assume you didn't get your video card in yet..

Actually, I just did, and I am even more ******* pissed.

On one hand I play BF 3 and other new generation games like Metro 2033 at 80 FPS all on Ultra + 8x AA.

On the other, Eve's average FPS has dropped from ~300 to 20-80...

And models seem to take ages to load in Eve now for some reason...

Must be a driver issue, I'll wait for the next set of drivers.

Otherwise, I'll just order another 6990 and crossfire it with this one.

Although I don't understand how a 2 generation old 4870 X2 could run Eve at 300 + FPS before it burned out 2 weeks ago, and the best dual core card on the market is blocked at 20-80...

PISSED.

But it's OK, I'll play BF 3 and SWTOR in the mean time...

Oh, and you wouldn't give me a beer because I don't drink.
Or smoke.
Or drink coffee.

The only drug I accept is epinephrine, and I get it via speed and danger IRL.

You don't drink smoke or drink coffee ? Well that's the main reason why you can't go to the fanfest, saying it's because of Incarna is too much, you just can't stand social gathering around common drugs :D I wonder how you find speed and danger IRL if you don't even dare take soft drugs :D

Actually no, the main reason is that I don't want to...

Hell, it would be easy for me, I could get there by yacht in a few hours... All I have to do is go due West, straight out of the dock in front of my window...

I'd go to E3 again any day, though...

Why would you possibly ever need 300 fps in EvE?

Turn V-Sync on and stop the stuttering already.

3-D, need at least 120 FPS to not get a ******* horribad headache..

Also, great... The game now freezes completely randomly for no real reason at the worst of times, and I have to force close, tends to happen when I bring up the FPS and resource monitor.
0.1 FPS and I almost died twice.
Only game I've had this problem in so far today.

Well **** this, then...

I think Mr. Positive should maybe just stay at home while the rest of us have fun at Fanfest Cool
(but I'm sure you would have a good time if you came to Fanfest FreezehunterSmile)

I have no time to party.

Also, I found out what was reducing my FPS so much, it's the ctrl alt shift m monitor.

As soon as it activates, it slows the game to about a frame every 10 seconds, and once you manage to turn it off, it goes back to normal.

Should I try running Log server?

I can't take a look at the real time data because the monitor makes the game unplayable.

What should I look for?

Oh, I'd tell you you're a grumpy old man to your face. Don't worry about that.

In the meantime, I'll suggest that since Iceland is basically a huge pile of volcanic rock covered in grass and snow, with nary a tree to be seen, that it actually looks very little like Norway at all.

As for your issues with the EVE client, it might help to pay attention to the upcoming push from CCP to sort out client-side problems. Make sure you report the fact that the client takes forever to load assets. It doesn't matter how fast the computer is, you can still count the seconds between disk accesses to retrieve that Domi model, then that megathron model, then that navy comet model, etc. On my machine I can see the progress of loading models on screen. I stare at empty space full of white crosses for a while, eventually the ship hulls blink into existence. It's a horrible, horrible thing to watch.

Maybe a stupid question, but why do you have the monitor open at all?

Yeah, well the problem is, I was without a GPU for about two weeks, in which time, Eve has received new patches.

So now, I am in a situation where I have this new 6990 installed in my computer, and it absolutely crushes everything I throw at it, except Eve.

I don't know if the card or the driver is the issue, or if it's just another one of CCP's massive patch **** ups.

Can you guys do me a favor and try to activate the ctrl alt shift m monitor in game and tell me if it does the same thing? (be somewhere safe, on my end this makes the game completely unplayable)...

Also, please tell me what GPUS you have so that I can make a biiiiiig bug report.

Its ATI thing... thats how it works...
I am unfortunate holder of another ATI dual GPU card... Ugh

basically forget any performance unless you play in full-screen.. Big smile
It takes some dedication to make it work..

Open the ESC menu, and try changing the "present interval", and check if you can get higher FPS if you do that (just an idea, I'm no expert in graphics settings)

It's always on immediate, because default means vsynch and the rest just drop FPS even more...

It used to go up to like 320 FPS on the 4870 x2 with interval immediate.

Bah humbug...

It may be worth noting that 5 euros is pretty much equal to 5 USD (and the euro is slowly trending downwards in comparison)

Last time I looked, the currency in Iceland was not Euros nor Dollars but ISK.
