I fly with a guy who was about your age when he started playing.(maybe slightly older) Iv known him since he was 16-17 and he is waaaaaayyyyy more mature than me (he is about 20 now and I'm 30). He and I ended up as directors in a semi-professional c5 pvp corp and basically ended up running it for a good while.

So like everyone else has said age shouldn't matter as long as u act mature and behave, then no one will really mind.

As a childish and bitchy person in his 40s i can vouch for this.
All i would add is that having an under-18 player on comms would modify the comms. Some corps have the 18+ requirement not because of your immaturity, but their desire to relax into immaturity, appalling language, manners.

Some people prefer the drama.

Some prefer a more stoic corporate environment.

And, there's your unqualified "maybe." Fact is, EVE players (as is true for all mature gamers) have no tolerance for kids. So, you get a lot of "it all depends." What it depends on, if you haven't figured it out yet, is if the kid's behavior resembles theirs.

As someone stated before, I think he falls under the late bloomer effect.

And as stated by many before me - it isn't the age that matters it is the maturity.
