My 2cents, who the hell will need such an uberhyped 'heylookimimportant' channel in an non Jspace System with so much tourismn and chat in local.
Its just another Tradehub with gankers in front of.
Chat in local is an right, not a privilege.

Which is probably a perfect example of why this thread is posted in the wrong place trying to talk to an audience comprised of the wrong people. Thera <> wspace. It's a 00 "no local" experiment imo (and pretty damn empty the last couple times I've poked my head in).

00 and LowSec people dipped their toes in for a couple weeks. They are now back to their to their regularly scheduled programming (ie. playing in TiDi and or trying to drop on people in plexes).

Thera has too many 'special rules' for it to be considered a true w-space system. The most important one is the fact it does not connect to the Wormhole static chain. It only has wandering wormhole>thera connections. Even all the other shattered holes have wormhole statics. In my mind, this makes Thera a completely different animal from the rest of w-space.
