site despawned ?

so i left room (escalation) with half rats dead and went away for 8h ..i came back , still having 10h on expedition, couldnt warp from journal but i had bmed the spot .. and all rats/structures were there
but after 1h i came back again and there was nothing .. no structures, no rats ..nothing ..

can someone explain me how does this work ? does site despawn if i leave for certain amount of time ? or after i warp out several times ? or what hapaned ? i didnt finish that room and there was still "boss" and main structures left ... so why did it despawn ?

I agree, somebody else must have finished it.

There's a lot of competition in the Exploration Career so be prepared to do some traveling. It's best to not only find the sites asap but also complete them asap. That means training up the necessary skills as well as having a good ship fit. To get the best results for your efforts, locate a couple of areas (check Star Map stats) that have low amount of player activity. If one area seems to be void of exploration sites then go check another area. Also it might help if you check the area at different times.

if i understood him correct it was an escalation site, shouldnt that be not scanable when nobody is inside?

yes indeed it was escalation ... i thought those are unscannable by other ppl .. im i missing something ?

he probably left an MTU or something in the site. or drones or whatever else can be scanned down with combat probes.

File a support ticket, sounds like an old bug popping up it's ugly head. The 1st clue is that you were unable to warp to it from your journal but warping to a BM took you to the site, that was a sign of an old de-spawn bug that was around when I started exploring in 2008.

Sometimes, when a next patch/expansion hits, old bugs can come 'un-fixed' in my experience.. We've already seen this in Proteus with the npc aggro bug that CCP says they are trying to fix right now, this could e another.

File a support ticket not just for yourself, but for the health and sanity of all your exploration brothers lol.
