Today I created a new medal in light of some recent events in my corp, and went to write up a mail announcing the new award as well as acknowledging it's first recipient and name sake.

Problem: Medals can't seem to be linked in mails or chat.

It would be awesome if we could just drag them into various interfaces so people could see what they are called and the description of them.

It's a small low priority item obviously as it doesn't affect much, but if someone manages to sneak this in somewhere, I'd really love it.

Unless when corporation mechanics get redone my current suggestion will become redundant. Hmm...

That would be tougher to pull off I think, but would be really really cool. Man I would be so behind that. Fleet medals would be amazing for ad-hoc groups like NPSI communities.

I support this change. Medals can be serious commemorations or they can be utter tomfoolery, but either way, they should be sharable.

While we are on the topic of medals, the cost should be removed from their creation and issuance as well.

While I would certainly support that, I don't mind the cost. 5 million is enough that it means I'm not going to toss them around like candy, but not so much that I hesitate to award them.

Thats why I kind of view it as a redundant service charge. You are going to give people a medal regardless of the cost anyway, and if you don't hand them out like candy now, you probably won't change after. 5M is what 5 minutes of isk making?

I definitely support this- and Alliance medals with custom decoration (like the logos- CCP Approved, of course) would be... interesting to say the least Smile
