The Minmatar T3 Destroyer can not be released until it looks cooler than the Amarr one. Because Winmatar.

A year from now it won't matter. Think L O N G term.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

So.....using the Confessor until they release the next D3 is....not.....an option? Because Destroyer V is.......hard?

Also, from the test server feedback thread for the Confessor....

Sorry Andreus Ixiris, but nobody is "entitled" to always receive their preferred faction's ships at the same time as everyone else.

We plan to use this method of release more and more in the future because:

a) It allows us to release content to all you players faster with the help of the new release cycle.
b) It gives players an opportunity to have a small but meaningful impact on the world of New Eden through their participation in events.
c) Far more players have expressed support for this method than have expressed opposition.

So in the future if you want access to your favourite faction's ships right away I advise you to participate and help your people win.

The contest was fair, even if most didn't hear about it it was an equal opportunity 'didn't hear'

so we Gallente take our lumps and wait patiently (most of us)

I don't want them all at once, I like the idea that they are spread out and we get to savour each one asd admire each new ship. Yeah, new ships. say it with me noooooo shipsssss yes

Fair contest with a fair result of having to wait our turn.

live with it

In an order not of his liking. I swear, some of you could ***** about ANYTHING. CCP could hand you a gift on a silver freakin' platter and people will pitch a hissy-fit about how they forgot to warm it up in a microwave first.

I think they are seeing how people use the confessor, then making some tweaks, and then probably do one new t3 destroyer every, or every other, release. Given most of the time since the last release was the holidays, I didn't really expect a whole lot for the upcoming release.

Stopped reading after four sentences.
Too predictable what comes.

I skilled Amarr Destroyer and Small Energy turret to V.
I didn't even notice and I was done.

Considering the research race, quite some folks participated in it. Easily spotted in the amount of Sleeper blue loot collected by the 5 parties (the 4 factions & the player side).
The research race was announced in a Devblog ( The research race of YC116) which was available to all. However, as nothing was revealed about what it would lead to, it mostly catched the interest of the RP & Lore community.

As people collected & turned in the sleeper loot, speculation was rife on what it would be, centered around something T3, because (as mentioned earlier in this thread) sleeper tech is crucial for it.

Once the event was over & the winners announced, it was revealed that it was for T3 destroyers & the event would dictate the order of their release. The release schedule decided by the event was as follows: Amarr first, then Minmatar, followed by Caldari and finally the Gallente Tech 3 destroyer.
At the time, 2 models were designed, one for the Amarr & one for Caldari, no concept sketches or model images have yet been released of the Minmatar & Gallente ones (however they are working on them!)

Edit: As mentioned above, CCP is looking into more events similar to this in order to release faction ships in a more staggered rate, to further fuel the feel of 'Eve is Real!' as the 4 factions in Eve compete & would try to do their best to be the first releasing a new ship, outdoing their enemies & giving them a temporary advantage in battle (until the others catched up of course!).

For more info on the result of the research race, the Tech 3 destroyers & to catch a glimpse of the Caldari Tech 3 destroyer, you can read this article I published on it: The result of the YC116 Sleeper data research race: Tech 3 destroyers unveiled!

Moral of the story? Don't dismiss RP events outright, unlike most MMO's, Eve events involving lore generally mean you get a chance to say 'I was there to see this happen/ I supported/brought down this event!' as they are not repeatable events and have an impact on the lore (most recent case of this would be the discovery of the Bright star, now a green nebula, it was named after the player who discovered it: Caroline's Star & CCP took the name, making it official)

If you like to stay in the loop of CCP events & the like, you can join the channel ' Live Events ' !

This is indeed true, unless you wish to be race pure. But I digress.

My issue is, I want the other ship skills released asap. Don't much care for the ships atm, just posting a selfish request to get the skills early. Lol

Reason? Current skilling and remap status. Oops

Thanks mate that was very useful and mainly what I was looking for. As much as I am part of the opposition this at least makes things clear.

There was a DEV post about the Minnie T3 in the Feb release. After that we should see the other two within the following two patches.
This soon to happen patch is small due to holiday.

I really don't care for the Confessor's model. I very much hope they aren't all goofy like that (or that this is a sign of things to come).

A space potato-peeler is of course only goofy to those who do not fear the space potato

I now have a mental image of the ship revolving around the Dominix, with peel hanging down. Lol
