I like to think of white knights as honorable space samurai who live by the space bushido code. They live to fight the villainy that is code and free the people of the land from their awful oppressive ways.

That is quite possibly the best point I have seen in C&P. CCP please implement a ban of NPC alts on the forumz! Call it a perk of being part of a player corp.

That's because there was a small variance in what you wanted to do, and what the toxic people (Jennifer and Sarah I'm looking at you) wanted to do. After all, these are people who ban you from their channel for explaining things like how to avoid being ganked and how to do API background checks.

In medieval times, White Knight was an Anglo-Norman title for one of the three hereditary knighthoods in Ireland. The first White Knight was Maurice Fitzgibbon. He died in 1357, but the title of White Knight was passed from father to son for nearly 300 years. Leto Thule is also correct, as the term has other meanings.

If you're talking about Jennifer en Marland (or however her name is spelled) -- after having a side conversation with her about the same idea (where I could finally get the whole point out, without some moron interjecting), she was more receptive ... or at least gave me that impression. In other side conversations, she has commented that [event|commentary|etc] by [banned person] was not "as cut and dry as she was led to believe" (paraphrased, anyway).

I think a lot of her brusqueness in the AG channel itself is due to it being not much more than an echo chamber ... and **** storms cropping up every time someone says something that's not in exact lock-step with what other players believe (e.g. "Mining is not PvP" or "You cannot own a hisec system" or "Hey, how about, I dunno, ganking the Orca/Bowhead that's dropping the catalysts for boomerang-ganks ... or just stealing the cats themselves...")

That last one was a fun conversation to say the least.

A. putting code in a bad "light" by saying they said mean things first. ie: ***
B. laughably trying to psi ops them into thinking that all their best gankers, leaders, and strategists are spaiz.

I was there when the phrase was coined. It was intended as an insult (which it is) because everyone in my old corp bristled at being called a "White Knight". In EVE it has NOTHING to do with the ***. Its a do gooder who really accomplishes NOTHING. Is why all my members put in our BIO that we were NOT White Knights and we stayed away from those who called themselves White Knight. My guys were willing and did lie, cheat and steal. White Knights DO NOT engage in those activities.
