Fanfest is a blast. Getting to hang out with like-minded fellows over a beer sharing war-stories and nostalgia is a good time. Especially against people you really hate in game. You come to realize they're just like you when you meet them in real life, and most often you get to have a few laughs.

It's a great social venue to meet people. If you're a loner, it's a great place to hook up with a corporation. I have seen every year the last 3 years, that people end up talking to guys from another corporation, and end up flying with them in game and have a blast.

Iceland is a nice place to vacation. Though it won't be a vacation for your liver.

I wouldn't wanna miss Fanfest personally.

I don't know stillman... I'm not sold on going yet.

My merry men and I have destroyed/stole hundreds of dollars (If you equate $$$ -> plex -> Isk) of assets over the years. (some concentrated within a single corp or player) I would be more afraid that my hansom face being punched in if I showed it at FanFest! Pirate

I would love to go but since the choice in travel is to be nuked or groped, I must decline. I will not get into a porno-scanner (already had lifetime doses of radiation thank you) nor will I let some fat TSA pervert stick his hands down my pants.

Someday when we have our freedom back then I will consider going.

Heh, I understand. Frankly, I've seen worst of enemies come face to face at fanfest. You know what happened? It's not pretty.

They gave each other a manhug. And had a beer together. Shocked

Because... I will be there. Seriously, that's reason enough.

If only these flights to Iceland wouldn't be so darn expensive. I really hope CCP can do something to get a better deal.

Yes, but due to a scheduling mix-up there will be no room available so it is either the bar, a hallway or a janitors closet Big smile

I'm not paying to see their ******* lies and bullshit again. (Incarna, much?)

They have special sessions for the special people like you where you can sit around and complain about how the snow is too white, the grass is too green, the Icelandic women are too beautiful, how CCP trying something new means you have to cope with something that is outside your comfort zone, and I'm sure you'll have time to complain about how the Earth is too round and ponder why you can never seem to get a date with a real woman.

For everyone else there are heaps of sessions focussing on the actual game, plenty of opportunities for catching up with that guy who podded you fifteen times last year, find out that yes, there really are women on the Internet (and they're all better looking than you), engage in some role-play, lots of drinking, and geeking out about your favourite pastime.

Iceland itself is an awesome place to visit (though some people visiting in Winter tend to find the lack of Sun disturbing), and you are guaranteed to meet people you've never met before, and most of them will be from a culture alien to your own.

It's a blast!

You should go! Maybe you'll find that drinking something other than your own **** and vinegar for a week will lift your mood Lol Yeah, okay, maybe I'm being a little too optimistic there.

I'm married, I've lived in 3 different countries until now, I have two nationalities and my favourite pastime is nothing close to Eve.

Also, I live in Norway, right next to the sea, and there is nothing in Iceland that I could see that I don't see here, or haven't already seen in the tens of countries I've traveled to, except volcanoes.

Not meeting assholes like you, who like to personally insult people they don't even know, is a bonus.

Sometimes I wonder how many of the bad mouthing bitches on this forum would have the balls to say all the **** they say to me here, IRL.

But then again, they wouldn't do that IRL, because they would be missing teeth a few seconds afterwards.

Bunch of pathetic losers...

I'd say it to you IRL, then give you a manhug, and hand you a beer.

Its kind of humourous how worked up you can get (even though your trolling) about a video game, which has a huge following, about NOT wanting to attend a convention based on said video game, so you can sit in Norway by the sea, and drink your own ****. Besides.. where else can you get wasted and hand a Dev his ass in Cruiser 1v1's?

Also- I'm going to go ahead and assume you didn't get your video card in yet..
