Relic/Data sites in W Space, all guarded?

Asking after getting conflicting info, on another thread it was stated that there are relic and data sites in wormholes that are unguarded as well as those that are guarded, however the eve wiki stats that all WH data/relic sites will have sleepers.

So which is it? Typically I would assume the Wiki is correct but after the recent changes, figured maybe that was one of them..

Im trying my damnedest as a new player to make my way doing exploration, but pretty much what I am finding is hisec is practically worthless, lowsec is less populous but very high risk, virtually without exception I have been bounced every time I enter lowsec and decloak at the data or relic site, even where there are only 4 or 5 people on local, it seems someone is always looking.

Just trying to figure out my options. I hate mining, and missions kinda get boring after a while, exploring is kinda fun but so far the payoff is pretty much nothing in hisec, and death in losec.

One more time. Pirate Faction sites, ie. Sansha, Angel etc are not guarded. The ones without a faction name are. And WHs can be much more dangerous than low. But the rewards can be good. Your call. That's why it is fun! Keep skilling up and learning the ropes.

And someone who knows how needs to update the Wiki I guess.

WH Relic/Data sites will have sleepers. Null sec Relic/Data sites that are in WH's will not have any NPC's.
You will see the difference as you scan, if it has a faction name it's a null site.

Bolded, underlined, and italicized for clarity.

"nulls that are in wormholes"

if its in nullsec its not in wormhole space? right?

I mean, I know there are wormholes that lead to nullsec space and wormholes that lead to "uncharted wormhole space" or atleast thats how I read it..

Im talking about space that is -1.0 and called something like J09375 or whatever and are "unclaimable" have no stations.

Ok, how do you know what is a C-1, C-2 , C-3 wormhole..

I don't see any designation listed under info.

When you show info:

Unknown parts of space C1, C2 or C3
Dangerous unknown parts of space C4 or C5
Deadly unknown parts of space C6

Regardless of wormhole class:
Data sites with sleepers all start with the following word: Unsecured
Relic sites with sleepers all start with the following word: Forgotten

All other data and relic sites in 'Unknown' wormholes (C1-C3) are now 00-style exploration sites and have no NPC hostiles/rats (though there might very well be capsuleer hostiles

Do ghost sites spawn in C1-C3? I recall they probably do, and it's another thing to watch out for.

Ghost sites spawn(ed) in wormholes, albeit they were quite rare to see. Not sure if ghost sites exist anymore.

I think sleeper data caches don't spawn in wormholes, but it would be nice to be corrected on this :p.

Or everyone could just use this website.

http://wh.pasta.gg/

It will tell you the

Class
Known Statics
An indication of the current occupents
A breakdown of the latest kill
Link to Zkillboard for the WH

Your welcome. God speed. Happy Hacking

Ghost sites do exist in WH still - I had 2 just last week.

Also OP, WH's for exploration isk making is actually quite cool. Yes, you have the possibility of getting ganked, and you'll be paranoid while spamming through the mini-game, but it beats the tediousness of 0.0 exploration by miles. I had a c2 pop up last week with 7-8 angel/sansha data/relic sites available. That was quite a solid isk reward for an hour of exploration in a cheap cov ops.

Yes they have a chance to spawn in any type of system.
