It depends on your implants etc.

This is not a signature.

Captain Obvious here.

It will cost you whatever the ISK value of the implants you had plugged in.

And that's all.

Now it's possible for bitter vets like me to take a break from polishing our diamonds and fly stuff cheaper than our clones. Provided we can break from being bitter long enough to play the game instead of complain about it.

And what a sad ******* change it is.

Eve was better before when clones meant something, when everybody had half speed training times and you had to train learning skills to make up the difference.

Eve was better when we had cold gas arcjet thrusters and you'd lose all of your sp between clone grades if you got podded in the wrong grade of clone.

Eve was better when webs were at 90% and combat was brutal and harsh just like eve used to be.

Anymore of this **** and we'll have hello kitty online.

I'd say its a quality of life improvement indeed, I'm sure we all had those funny times were we forgot to update our clone and voila, days of training gone.

Short answer its NO, there was no "meant something" its only meant when you "forgot" to upgrade your clone. There was no other choice than that.

Stop feeding the obvious troll. I know it's no use to say that
and I know lots of morons will do anyway, but at least I've tried.

The only real point he has was that modules with cool sounding names were awesome.

You already paid that cost in ISK, yes, but got something back of the same value so you haven't lost the wealth just yet.

But have you really? If I plug in a full set of mining implants (if there is such a thing as mining implants), and then never fly a mining ship, have I not effectively lost the ISK I spent? Is having 5% more shootiness in your guns a form of wealth?

This is a great question I would love to see an example of ... with condoms!

It never worked like that. You would lose 5% of the difference between your SP and the clone limit or 50% of your highest trained rank, whicever was the lowest.

So in other words if you had 200M SP and had Amarr Titan 5 you would not lose 10M SP, you would howver lose half of your Amarr Titan V skill so about 2M SP.

In all your laments you missed the best one of all. Eve was better when you could gain SP simply by using a module. Yes, when running your cold gas arcjet thrusters gave you Afterburner skill points.

Just after release this was. Shocked
