DED Gurista vs. Angels

Hey,

I was running dozens of 4-8/10s in Guristas space in the past two weeks..
Now I moved to angel nullsec with my corp and I tried my first 7/10...

I was running the Gurista sites in a Tengu and it was really really easy , now that I moved into Angel space I have trouble to tank all the incoming DPS..

Before we moved to Angel space I had ~1400DPS tank on my Tengu vs. Guristas , against Angels - no matter what I try - Im getting 700max which simply isnt enough (at least for a 7/10)..

Then there's the damage application.. any tips how to play against Angels? Against Guristas I normally did volleys of ~1500DMG
now my volleys are down to 800 (Nova HMs because of the DMG-type of course) which is horribly frustrating as it takes AGES! to pop a Angel BS..

So did I miss anything? Is the Tengu simply to weak against Angels? I only have 12m SP which may be a problem aswell , but if the Tengu isnt the right ship to fly in Angel space , what else then? A HAM Legion?

Please , help me Shocked Im desperate as that was my main income and now its more or less gone because I cant solo the DEDs What?

If you have the offensive subsystem to 5 I would give scourge missiles a go, the bonus should compensate for shooting a higher resist. Without knowing your fit it's hard to say what else you may be doing inefficiently. Due to the angel ewar as TP you will have a hard time sig tanking, but you should still use an AB and try to keep transversal up, then you focus the tank on the angel explosive missiles.

Thats what Im currently running... Im using the Cap. Reg. Matrix because it (at least) gives me capstable 700DPS tank...
DCII for unexpected PVP situations but tbh its not mandatory as there are barely neuts in the systems we took..

I use scourge against angels. Some angels seem to do some em/therm dmg too btw. I have 2
rigors as rigs and don't need to permarun the booster. No bling on my tengu and I run 7/10 just fine.
dC, explo and em hardener & booster.
And HAM's.

should be shooting scourge, kinetic is angels second weakest resist anyway.

The missiles angels shoot are usually thermal damage.

As others have said, use Scourge against Angels.

Also, you want to use the power grid subsystem, as that will give you a sixth launcher.

You should also consider 1x T2 Rigor, 1x T2 Flare, 1x T2 CCC as your rigs. You will get much better damage application. If you lose cap stability and think you must have cap stability, consider a better afterburner or switching over to a Gistum Shield Booster.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Sorry! Fit mentioned above isnt my actual fit - using a RF10mn AB
But yeah - gonna test that :) thanks for the advices.. damage is not coming from the missiles anyways , its their projectiles/lasers or whatever theyre using , guess its projectile as theyre flying minmatar ships :P

But yeah , gonna try thermal defl. fields and the damage rigs.. Guess as soon as I dont have the problem with the projectiles anymore I probably dont need the permatank..

If theres more advices - let me hear it please :P

But thanks so far,

For Angels, I have always done just fine with 1x explosive hardener and 2x invulnerability fields. The thermal resistance on a Tengu is high enough not to worry about it with a specific hardener.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

I pulled a preliminary list of NPC's and NPC ship datums off of the evewiki and http://eveinfo.com/npcships/ and ran them through http://sisterofeve.ru/gmdc/

Assumptions;
Angel 10/10 -Angel Cartel Naval Shipyard
DPS is a linear function
Targets are moving at their maximum velocity.
All skills 5/5. Relevant implants at 5/6.

Per launcher dps using the best ammo/launcher combinations against targets of various classes is;

Destroyer - Gistor Seizer/Thrasher;

Kinetic Damage type - CN HAM = 7 dps. Modified Kinetic dps, for lvl's 4/ 5 controlling skill, is 8.4/8.75
Explosive Damage type - CN HAM or Precision Heavy = 7 dps

Battlecruiser - Gistatis Legatus;

Kinetic Damage type - CN HAM = 15 dps. Modified Kinetic dps, for lvl's 4/ 5 controlling skill, is 18/18.75
Explosive Damage type - CN HAM = 17 dps

Battleship - Gist Throne;

Kinetic Damage type - Rage HAM = 11 dps. Modified Kinetic dps, for lvl's 4/ 5 controlling skill, is 13.2/13.75
Explosive Damage type - Rage HAM = 14 dps

Battleship Commmander - Domination Seraphim;

Kinetic Damage type - CN HAM >= Rage HAM = 10 dps. Modified Kinetic dps, for lvl's 4/ 5 controlling skill, is 12/12.5
Explosive Damage type - CN HAM = 11 dps

Each of these numbers is a minimum of the function at some velocity, signature radius combination hence actual DPS/launcher will be strictly higher.

As the resist profile on a Gist Throne is 58 kinetic 47 explosive it's "technically" more dps to switch to Nova Rage HAMs; practically speaking it's probably less then or equal to Scourge Rage HAM so there's no point in reloading just for the damage.

For practical skill levels (i.e. Caldari Offensive Systems 4 or 5) just use kinetic ammo. Even with Caldari Offensive Systems at level 3 you'll still do more damage with Kinetic damage types most of the time.

If this could help you to manage your fit (or fits,because of angel 8/10) you can watch videos that i have been made a while ago

Tengu Angel 10/10
Tengu Angel 8/10
Tengu Angel 6/10
Basically all of them can be done without skirmish links that used in videos(its my scout combined with links)
Mail me if you want the current fitting.
