Hey, so I'm not new to Eve but I'm sort of new to hacking..

I was just hacking in a 0.5 trying it out and I successfully hacked something. Then my Iskhur starts getting attacked by 4 cruiser rats, not problem but then I basically get Concord'ed... Ok, well that sucks

So I go to the kill mail and

It says I dealt the finally blow and 93.4% of the damage. What happened?

Sounds to me like you were just trying to DDoS those data sites.... that's not hacking..... .. .

nothing on KBs. Post it maybe? Do you work for Yahoo! news or something where they write articles about photos and don't include the photo?

DDoS?

No it was just me out there (0.5), nobody else and four NPCS.. I went from 80% left to a pod instantly in a T2 frig on a 9 year old toon

sounds odd, my best guess is that it was a ghost site, they supposedly have spawns that are mainly there just to kill you.

try taking a screenshot of the killmail and post that.

But they didn't kill me.. it said I did over 90% of the damage and it was instant. I can't post the kill mail according to the guy above or the thread will get locked

That was my gusss as well, but they're battleships .... no?

Sometimes this rule is rather stupid.

I suggest mailing the crest link to someone of this thread.
(I assume it shows a kill, only today found the ingame crest links)

Ghost sites also explode. But if I remember my own fail in this regard correctly, the loss report should list the structure as final blow.

No they were entry level cruiser rats in a 0.5 system.

Did you break off the hack or get outside of range of the can to cause hack break? That may have triggered the container to explode and it will take out small poorly tanked ships (even a high resist Astero Sad )

That it says you did the damage might be a bug. Something you did got you the damage, and you can get that damage by failing or breaking off the hack attempt in a covert site.

Pretty sure ghost sites explode after a set period of time (or if you fail a hack). The rats don't actually shoot you. They blow up the cans (to destroy evidence according to lore.) It does something like 10,000 explosive alpha damage.

I've always viewed ghost sites as an epic troll on noobs by CCP.

It was a ghost site, as soon as you enter uncloaked (or uncloak in the site) a timer runs. At the end of the timer NPCs come and blow the site, if you're close enough to a tower when it blows you receive a high damage amount.
Concord wasn't involved.

Why on earth would posting a kill mail get the thread locked? Sorry if I am missing something but that seems like a poor idea, this thread is proof that the rule is a hindrance to helping people out.
