It is my understanding that fleet boosts provide a fleet with increased properties like dps and armor. However they are not applied alone. What would happen if i were to fleet myself or an alt of mine, would i still get my own fleet bonuses?

Yes that will work. Assuming your alt is in a leadership position. Like squad commander, wing, or fleet. However I should clarify if you are boosting a fleet you cannot receive bonuses on that same character. It is a downward spiral. For example,

Fleet Command
- Noone -
Wing Command
- Noone -
Squad Command
- Character Jim -
Squad Members
- Character Bob -

Only the character Bob will receive the bonuses. Jim cannot boost himself.

Yes. When a fleet member applies boosts, he and all sub-ordinates (in the fleet heirarchy) in the same system as him receive the boosts. So, yes, you could have an alt of yours in system, in fleet, doing nothing other than serving as a reason for you to give yourself boosts.

Fyi , dps cannot be boosted.
TThings like local rep , Sig radius, ppoint range, speed, agility and module activation costs can.

Also this is assuming you have a charachter with the skills in a ship fitted with fleet assistance modules in the correct positionin fleet , with the booster role, actually in system boosting at the time.

You are looking for certain battle cruisers (check the bonuses), command ship's and Tec 3 cruisers.

Range can be increased for all EWAR as well.

I often fleet with my no skill alt to get boosts with me as squad leader and my no skill alt as the only other fleet member. I do get the range boost from information warfare on my squad leader main the only toon with any skills.

In order for people to get fleet boosts the fleet has to be set up properly only people properly in the fleet hierarchy will get boosts. What that means is that a squad leader must have the skills to lead the squad the size that it is. Read the skills it tells you exactly how it works but leadership 1 allows you to have 2 characters in squad and leadership 5 allows you to have 10. If you have leadership 1 and 3 people in the squad someone will not get boosts. If your fleet is bigger than 10 people you will need someone with wing command skilled and you will need fleet command skilled if you want to boost multiple wings.

Keep in mind though that a fleet of one person cannot have boosts. So, you can't form a fleet by yourself just to boost yourself. There has to be at least two people in the fleet, in space, in the same system, and one of them designated as a booster.

So im hearing conflicting statments. If i and an alt are both in fleet and we are using this charecter's fleet boosts, do I, fleet leader, also get boosted?

Not sure where you are reading conflicting reports. The answer is yes, you do get the boosts.

Edit: Oh did you mean what Ralph said about DPS? He is correct there are no boosts possible for DPS but that has nothing to do with your question there simply are not any available ever.

The link I posted outlines the various boosts available.

Yes, all members of a valid squad get boosts ( so, a SC and up to 9 squad members).

If you have SC 1 and a 3 man gang (or any other combination that is invalid), no one gets boosts.

If you're in a wing (with a valid wing commander), the boosts depend on who has better skills. So, if you're for example in the "newb squad" with a L3 Leadership, and your WC has L5, you'll actually get the L5 Leadership boosts from your WC.

Same goes for if you've got a FC with multiple wings.

In any event, the full chain of command needs to be there, so if you're a squad member, and someone is a fleet commander, you must also have at least one WC who can handle the wings, and one SC who can handle the number of other pilots.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

So long as the Booster is assigned as the booster in the fleet, has the skills necessary for it, and that there are at least two people in the fleet who are in space in the same system, boosts will be received by both characters.

Eldwinn's post above regarding the squad leader not receiving boosts is incorrect, as it is not a "downward spiral." Both characters Jim and Bob will receive the boosts.
